Empty Shelves’

Today's Tids Issue 5,082

Full Hearts:

Missing items in the stores

Empty pantry drawers,

Will certainly befall

Consumer exasperation.

But the reality of it all,

Its why we have inflation!

Supply and demand still lives!

JP Morgan’s falling profit just reported may be the first sign of a change in economic reality. Except that EPS beat the street. So, I guess the Street knew JP could beat despite a very large decline in trading activity earnings, making this no surprise. Perhaps knowing that the bad is already in there, we will have 2022 sweet treat after all. Or, maybe something more devious is brewing. Earnings season just began mainly with the financial companies.

The fact that Kansas and Arkansas are pronounced differently bothers me way mor thana it should.

Repubs are overly giddy about Biden’s falling approval numbers. They shouldn’t be in such a hurry to claim the congress this early and become complacent. ever dismiss the old “My congress person isn’t the problem” axiom that has always kept the bad one’s in power. Today due to the big Gov largess era, congress people are bringing home plenty of loot to their communities. And that is what the voter sees.

If the people who make motivational posters are so motivated, why are they still working in a poster factory?

I know, “befall’ is a stretch.

The Question:

The Voice coaches have made some pretty good dough over the years with wealth from $10 Million to $300 Million. Here are all the Voice coaches listed alphabetically: Christina Aquilaria, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, CeeLo Green, Jennifer Hudson, Nick Jonas, Alicia Keys, Adam Lavine, Joh Legend, Shakira, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Usher and Pharrell Williams. Who do you think are the five wealthiest?

The Headlines:

You got to feel for Queen Elizabeth II. Not just because of Andrew, but for the loneliness of her with the passing of her husband of a over 70 years, Phillip. Made sadly more dramatic by the scene of morning alone at the eve of his funeral, all by herself missing him, while a middle-of-Covid raucous party was raging at Ten Downing. We forget that Queens are people too.

I don't know how to speed-read. Instead, I listen to Books on Tape on fast-forward.

Death Penalty Oops!, Department:

The Tids Complaint Department received several anxious emails yesterday: “Did the Tidster have a stroke? Was he abducted by aliens? Was he finally eaten alive by the spell-check monster? Or was it simply a case of not being able decipher his own thoughts as produced by his own fat, not so agile fingers? Yes, I can see the bewilderment in: “tatdactiseedstbe take. Cotollligour ow destiyis wahtit siallabotu ow. dcitatig seriousactio tat mustbe take. We haveot ow balace an artificasl ecoomy boomoig upon Fed assitace wittehed ot get pirce groeta uder cotrol. t may takea littlscarificice byte ser wekthyadteavergat peos trygto eke out a livig.” Ugh!

Here is what it was supposed to be: “Big numbers like yesterday’s 7% inflation growth report may just fly over heads of a large part of America, but it is a definite warning sign that action needs to be taken. Controlling our own economic destiny is what it is all about now, dictating that serious adjustments must be made. We now have to balance an artificial economy booming upon Fed assistance with the reality of global economic factors – good and bad alike. It will no doubt take sacrifices by all high-flying economy beneficiaries. And a little humility from all of those who thought they looked like geniuses when all the numbers were always up. But inflation is the biggest killer of all. And that is the problem.

I spent much too much time on that. I should have spent it yesterday. Think of all my school teacher readers who want to jump off a cliff somewhere! Yikes!

But at least one woman reading thought it was funny enough to start her day delightfully laughing out loud.

My mother asked me to hand out invitations for my brother's surprise birthday party. That's when I realized he was her favorite twin.

My biggest empty shelf dilemma is the serious absence of frozen Sausage Egg and Cheese breakfast sandwiches on a biscuit or croissant. And especially my Shaw’s “Signature” Store brand which are better that Jimmy Deans’. Sorry ot bore you with my woes. I just wanted you to know that Tids writers are humans too.

Do you realize how pathetic it may look e watching a grown man standing with his nose pressing against the frozen foods cooler door hoping for one last box to materialize in a corner somewhere.

I saw a rabbit hopping in my side yard least evening. It’s January. You don’t see rabbits in January. Did I miss Lent?

One of the major issues about owing cryptocurrency can be summed up in this headline: “North Korean Hackers Stole $400 Million Of Cryptocurrency in 2021.” The attacks routinely targeted investment firms and centralized exchanges. Do you think Un is using it to feed his people or build Nukes?

If I write a poem to the rhythm of a melody in my head, am I writing a song?

A reader suggests this as a good idea for all, from a quote by Lewis Carroll:  "All that is really worth the doing, is what we do for others." It’s nice to know that some suspect characters who read this mess have hearts.

I was going to try to do some movie reviews today, but I didn’t’ find anything worth reviewing. Sorry.

The Answer:

The nice thing about meditation is that it makes doing nothing quite respectable.

Have a great weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!

May all of your shelves be full.
