No sure things.

Today's Tids Issue 5,101

Greatness doesn't just happen:

My computer suddenly started belting out "Someone Like You." It's a Dell.

Just five more days to Valentine’s Day. Of course, true love is for every day. But, it’s just nice to be smothered in big red hearts once a year. And eat chocolate without guilt.

Don't use "beef stew" as a computer password. It's not stroganoff.

I have always been an adherent for alternative energy sources since the 1950’s ad 60’s when I began to understand the potential for the practical application of nuclear Generation. And now there is an increasing likelihood that the energy of the stars, nuclear fusion, may just be that elusive panacea. This is an efficient power generator as opposed to some of the sources being posed today that can only survive comically with government subsidies.

Heard in 1955: “There is no sense going on short trips any more for a weekend. It costs nearly $2.00 a night to stay in a ho

The Question:

Why is FDR on the dime?

The real reason the groundhog went back into his warm hovel is because he saw larger than ever potholes looming for the next 8 weeks.

It seems that Ukraine is sitting uncomfortably in the middle of “words warfare” between Russia and US.

Today is “National Read in the Bathtub Day”. Don’t plug in your Kindle.

Americans seem more upset over the Ken/Mayim indecision than anything else on the national controversy stage.

Utter disbelief is certainly the phrase that describes the failings of sure thing winner Mikala Shiffrin in her two best events. She just didn’t appear ready to compete. Maybe it was too much “Greatest skier ever” hype that got her off on the wrong ski. But it is odd that such an exceptional champion could last but a couple of seconds for each of the humbling eliminations. I‘m sure her competitors were concerned a bit, but maybe also for a change enjoyed the possibility of a little hope. Mikala appeared deeply shaken for quite a while after. She has 3 more events. I have a feeling a few eyes will be on the tube.

Prime mates: Monkeys who shared an Amazon account?

I’m with McConnell against the censuring of Cheney and Kissingr for their personal views. on Trump Misbehaving and Jan 6 riots. To me, it is just plain un-American for congress to squash legislator’s right to speak their opinions freely.

I think Europe has a different kind of stake in the Ukraine thing than the US. I stay tuned to BBC News.

The Answer:

FDR began a foundation to fight against polio. Comedian Eddie Cantor came up with the name “March Of Dimes’, asking that Americans send a dime to the White House.  Within days the white House was overloaded with truckloads of 2,680,000 dimes which went directly into research that produced the Polio vaccine. Most of the dimes were from children. That’s why FDR is on the dime.

Autocorrect has become my worst enema.
