In case you didn’t remember about Ukraine and Nukes, a reader did and wrote: “When Ukraine broke away from the USSR they had the majority of Russia’s nuke weapons. We and NATO convinced them to disarm in exchange for our promise to defend them in the event of a hostile Invasion. This sounds like a perplexity.

 

Just because we don’t like Russa, don’t take it out on their 15 yar old figure skater Kamilla Valiera, who just may be the most amazing figure skater to ever to lace up skates. At the Olympics yesterday she flawlessly executed “A Quad”, that is four spins in the air. I have watched her this past couple of months and she is wizardry to behold.

Today is “National Laugh and Get Rich Day”. I‘m buying into that.

 

The list of praised movies I have never heard of is out again today.  Apparently, The Power of the Dog has the most nominations followed by West Side Story (The original version had the most imitations [11} 1961). Th other best picks are "Belfast", "CODA" (Looks interesting), "Don't Look Up", "Drive My Car", "Dune", "King Richard", "Licorice Pizza", "Nightmare Alley", "The Power of the Dog" and "West Side Story". I the best actor category, I am all in behind Andrew Garfield for Tick Tick Boom.

 

The thing that seems to be happening on Wall Street is a reevaluation of companies that soared out of sight because of growth potential. Are many of them now maturing companies that must be evaluated under a new set of rules that will necessarily change the dynamics of valuations. Just one mor thing to watch.

 

Remember just about one short year ago when the US was oil independent, meaning we didn’t have to get down on our knees before the Middle East oil oligarchy. Several of Joe B’s first steps were to dilute our strength in home grown oil. Big biz is a shouting “Yikes!” Aside from local, state and Fed government unions, total membership has gone down in the last decade. And a lot of union bosses are having trouble paying for their vacation homes.

 

Payday candy bar is changing its name because it is offensive to those who don’t work.

 

Before 1922, children in comas waiting to die were filling wards in hospitals across the country. They were diabetic kids waiting to succumb to Keto-acidosis. But those rooms of death and gloom were to change radially to rooms of Hope and Joy as doctors want into ward of dying children in a Toronto hospital with, injectable insulin. And one by one, eyes fluttered open. There is a lot of talk now about growth of diabetes usually centered around bad eating habits. For sure god eating is important. But the real reason for diabetes growth is that all those with the gene who used to die now marry and have families.
