Or am I.

Today's Tids Issue 5,281

Why the Fuss:

Remarkable things happen when people care. That just popped into my head yesterday, so I thought I'd send it along.

My understanding is that Prigozhin, while one mean son of a gun, is a thorn in the sides of the really, really mean sons of guns in Russia, the mob boss Oligarchs who are said to be running the country. Or something like that. So, how safe is Yevgeny in Belarus? That is the question. It will be interesting to watch the fallout.

No candidate seems to be getting any traction in this 2024 race oteh than Biden and Trump. And Biden has a 4-point edge at this point in time. And Kamala who doesn't appear to be able to put two sentences together will be America’s hope in the event of a Biden problem.

Hey, it will be 4th of July next weekend and maybe with the flags waving and bands playing and soldiers marching grand, we’ll reflect upon the America that used to be, and how we always found a way forward together... regardless of differences.

The Question:

  1. Where was the Declaration of Independence signed? 2.Why couldn’t George Washington fall asleep3. Where is the capital in Washington DC? 4.Why is there no Knock-Knock joke about America?

The Headlines:

--Markets Mixed; Nas and Dow Flip from Red/Black to Black/Red as Muddled Day Continues; Fed Reminding Bulls Who Is in Charge; Goldman Joins Others in Tesla Downgrade.

--Supreme Court in Summer Wind Down Facing Most Contentious Decisions Involving Voting, Gay Rights, Religious Rights, Student Loans and Affirmatives Action Cases.

--Prigozhin Says He Didn’t March to Topple Putin, But to Hold Accountable Those Who Made Mistakes in Ukraine War.

--Wagner Group Leaders Remain Defiant.

Keegan Bradly was Marvelous for three days and then he started playing golf like me and almost blew it. Happy he won, but his coming down the stretch was a classic example of what pressure and mind games can do to the best of players.

I'm changing my life for the better and that will begin by refusing to ever again get sucked into another "Newsbreak” headline.

After the brief mutiny, it appears the first thing Russia did was a chief diplomat to Beijing to assure China's continued support of the Russian mistake prone war. Does China own Russia yet?

One of the little rewards from writing a news commentary column (Or whatever this is) each day is that you learn how to spell words like Prigozhin or Antetokounmpo.

A new BoarsHead commercial that has the tag line “Compromise Elsewhere.” What they are telling me is that they know their meat costs a lot and you can save up by cutting back on other purchases

Remember that the end of a American isn’t Can’t.

Have you ever noticed that nobody ever quotes Senator Jack Reed?

I have noticed when writing a novel that it is best to dismiss all emotions so you can effectively forge ahead with the plot line. Yet you will find as you forge ahead into the depths of the novel, you will become part of it and experience a whole new set of emotions never felt.

Does that make sense? Probably not. I have trouble with making sense sometimes. Especially when it comes to emotions, being a cold-hearted old Yankee, you know.

The Answer:

The answers for 1,2,3,4 is “At the bottom”, “He couldn't lie’, “At the beginning” and “Because freedom rings”. Ok, so the heat got me.

It’s tough being half Irish and half old Yankee – you ever know whether to be stoic or cry. That is a basic melting pot problem. Everybody seems to think we have a problem because nobody listens to each other, but it is likely we don’t listen to ourselves.

I think the heat is getting to me, And its only 73 here. Think about what this would be like if I was writing in Texas.
