Returning to earth.

Today's Tids Issue 5.266

Protest Torpor:

What is disturbing these days is that you may be walking next to a nice-looking person who may be distraught because gas stoves exist.

There is a tendency in the USA to over Hype everything. But for a while now the LPGA has been eagerly awaiting the debut of the much-heralded NCAA champ Rose Zhang. All she did was dominate the field and win the first pro tournament she was ever in. That’s pretty cool. Now let hope they don’t overdo her publicity.

I own a pencil that used to be owned by William Shakespeare, but he chewed it a lot. Now I can’t tell if it’s 2B or not 2B.

The left is beginning to understand that the country is moving towards the center. I may have to expand on that later in the week.

The Question:

According to Discover Magazine, what are the five inventions in human history that changed the world?

The Headlines:

--Apple Shares Hit New records; Markets Limping After Saudis Increase Oil Prices.

-- No New Info on Mystery Plane that Crashed After Rushing Past White House.

--Russia Says Ukraine Initiated New Assaults.

--Niiki Haley Reaffirms Strong Pro-Life Position,

If I were to join a group to fight for anything it would be one that has as its objective to keep love and romance alive and scintillating. Did you see where people are contented with falling in love with an AI creation from their mind. I'm not the brightest lightbulb in the planet, but my intuition sems to say that could be bad for society.

Robert Kennedy was shot to death 55 years ago today. It seems like yesterday.

I'll tell you what is bothering me lately, the collapse of buildings.

The Boston Red Sox have created a situation where the old-fashioned typical masochist Sox fan is libel o to fall in love with their ineptitude. Crying about how bad we are, has always been part of being a great fan around here.

A neat nurse's assistant is an orderly orderly.

Headlines said that Amazon workers are raging in the Streets of Seattle to protest the company's lack of progress in fighting climate change. What they are really pretesting is a call to return to working in the office.

RIP Boiled water. You will be missed.

Employees these days seem to think that stuff just happens and don’t appreciate what the owner of a company had and has to go through to get to a position where he or she could afford to hire employees.

A good campaign slogan for the ex-VP might be Pence and Sensibility.

One thing I noticed most during the Debt Deal debate was that news media mainly reported on the naysayers. It turned out that was not much of a factor at all. In fact, if you watch the news regularly or read news stories you find that most of the reported uproar is centered around the anger of relatively small minorities. It is one reason why the USA has lost its balance.

The Answer:

Well number one is the wheel. And surprisingly number two occurred around 232 BC – the elevator, vertical transportation. There is the Printing press. Four are vaccines and five is obviously the computer.

In a new NPR poll, Americans are most interested in the Economy (31%) and Preserving Democracy (20%) Next at 9%v is healthcare followed by Immigration, Climate Change and Crime.

I was hoping to steal some leftovers from the party, but my plans were foiled.
