Eliminate the Negative.

Today;s Tids Issue 4,815:

No Politics weekend:

Other than typos, do you know what one of the really big problems is these days? It’s people holding grudges instead of getting on with tomorrow. Grudges aren’t good for the soul. Getting even isn’t good for the heart. If we convert all of that negative energy to into positive objectives, think of all the things we could accomplish. Maybe we have to start voting in adults.

I really love supermarket rotisserie chicken.

The couple looking for a new house lot were site-seeing.

With the political morass and all the political correctness hullabaloo, some nice little achievements that fall outside the current cultural numbness get little attention from the sanctified press. A huge USA event occurred this week when the US Junior Hockey Team upset mighty Canada to win the World Junior Hockey Championship. That’s “World” as in the entire, whole Earth. The best young players are now in the US, and they beat all of the best young players that all of the other countries could assemble, including historic giants in the game like Canada and Russia and Finland and Czech Republic, all of those so-called called leaders on ice. Our guys, American boys, won it all. And barely a soul knows.

The Question:

Prez Trump just aid he will not attend Joe’s inauguration. Who was the last President to skip his successor’s inauguration? Bonus: Why isn’t “Holistic” spelled “Wholistic”? Extra Bonus: Name five weird common word spellings that could be simplified.

.

A lot of regular, everyday people have figured it out about getting along. Why do leaders have so much trouble seeing it?

I gave my dog a big ball, But, unfortunately, he didn’t have a tuxedo.

It’s championship Pickin’ time. The Tids-Pickers went 11-5 through last week’s potholes to bring the year end total to 179-73-1 (71%). Next year – 75% Plus. That’s the goal. Now we go to the Playoffs with 6 games (KC and GB have first round byes).  I think they will all be interesting, with three of those being tough picks. This weekend and next are the best for the NFL season. I think Tampa Bay will take down Washington. TB has looked pretty good lately. Washington has played with a lot of Heart (Heart under Dan Snyder?) But talent is the answer. Another team playing with heart is Chicago, but New Orleans will be too much. LA Rams versus Seattle is a big rivalry game and should be a tough pick, but LA is suspect to me now, so I’ m going with Seattle. The tougher picks are Baltimore-Tennessee, Indianapolis-Buffalo and Pittsburgh-Cleveland. Interestingly, in addition to my Pats, I have been rooting for Tennessee, Buffalo and Cleveland all year long. Also, I have a particular dislike for all of their opponents, Pitt, Balt and Indy. But my heart aside, emotions don’t make for winning picks. Indy has ben a surprise to me, but if Buffalo continues to be as strong as they have been lately, this could be no contest. But I expect a squeaker in favor of the Bills. Baltimore is great now, and I’m not sure of Tennessee. Lamar Jackson to shine and the Ravens to fly. Cleveland and Pitt is another longtime rivalry game. There are big Covid questions about the Browns but their motivation is high as a brownie leaping in a field of daisies. Pitt has issues. I go Cleveland. Ok, maybe I have a little of my heart in that one.

Speaking of Dan Snyder, I have it on good authority that this billionaire put in coffee machines for his employees, but they have to bring in their own K-Cups. Now, that’s funny. Or is sad.

Are Trump agency Secretaries Resigning To Avoid Being Sucked into A Possible 25th Amendment Action? Probably.

I just want to get on with laughing, living and loving…and avoiding a wheelchair.

Life is bigger than a government.

Ranna McDaniel was just elected to her third term as Head of the Repub National Committee. She says, “Democrats, get ready, Buckle your seatbelts. We’re coming.” Doesn’t look like harmony year ahead to me.

“Id”: The part of the mind in which innate instinctive impulses and primary processes are manifest.

“Tid”: A rapscallion invasion of the mind that interrupts process while producing compulsive impulses to scream out loud in public.

The Answer:

The last President to skip a successor’s inauguration was Andrew Jackson. Bonus: Both words refer to parts interconnected and actually could be used interchangeably. But, Holistic generally refers to medical interconnection, and Wholistic to Philosophy of Life connections. Holistic as a word first appeared in 1926 and became a reference to Medicine in 1960. Wholistic crept into our vernacular around 1941.  Extra Bonus: There are lots of annoying word spellings that flummox this spelling challenged mind. How about Wensday, Rasberry and Nob instead of Wednesday, Raspberry and Knob. How about all of the “K” starter words like Nack for Knack and Nead for Knead; “G” words like Naw for Gnaw and Nat for Gnat. The switch form scribes to the Printing press had a lot to do with this unorthodox word reservoir. Think about four “ea” words with totally different sounds like Great, Bread, Wear and Knead. Say what? Then there is Jeopardy and all of the “Ought” words. Some other words are Island, Colonel and Receipt. The first printers wanted to standardize English but too many words were already in common usage.

Wrestling with all of that spelling research has literally hurt my brain. I’ve got to learn to keep the Tids simple.

Have a great weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
