Where are the dimmers.

Today's Tids Issue 4,819

Dreaming:

“Life is all about lighting.’ – Stevie Nicks

Has there ever been anything more anticlimactic than yesterday’s vote to impeach Trump?

Drama Queen, Department:

Did you notice that Nancy was dressed in her mourning clothes? Yikes!

Constitutional Lawyers on both sides of the discussion are licking their chops at the prospects of arguing the case for or against convicting to remove a President from office who is no longer in office. And even if the accusations of the alleged crime under the articles of impeachment rise to a convictable act.

I’m hearing from reliable sources that editorial content on many well know sites is driven now more than ever by SEO (Search Engine Optimization). It’s all about driving people to sites, no matter the honest objective of the site. It requires focus on the more dramatic story, the more shocking headline. It’s about using key words that create action within the site to create clicks and ad dollars. And that my friends is where the Hysteria comes from. And Misinformation emphasis. It’s why stories don’t go away until somebody stops clicking. Or buying newspaper Or change the TV dial.

Just one month to good ole' Valentines Day.

I believe there are four really good games this weekend and unlike many play off weekends in the past, I think any team e is capable of beating any other team The Tids-Pickers were 5-1 last week but this week we could be a disaster zone. The picks could be an impeachable offense. My emotional favorites are Buffalo and Cleveland. I’ll save those for the end. Last week the Rams, who have been questionable, lived up to their early season promise. But this week they play Green Bay which is playing as well as anybody, and Aaron Rogers is paling as good as anybody.  I have to pick Green Bay. Aaron Rogers, we have two other Hall Of Famer old guys. Tom Brady and Drew Brees who just happen to be the all-time leaders in TD passes and total passing yardage. TB Brady is playing very well (When did he learn to throw long passes?) but the TB Bucs have questions. If Brees and Brady cancel each other out, then I go NO with a better all-around team, and coach. Cleveland-KC also features two outstanding QBs of the younger variety. KC’s Mahomes is truly amazing, but the Brown’s Baker Mayfield is capable of matching him, I believe. I have seen holes in KCs team this year, and I’m picking Cleveland to surprise. The super game of the weekend could just be Baltimore at Buffalo, two teams playing well also with great young QB’s. The Bills Josh Allen is in the MVP hunt and he is against last year’s magician MVP Lamar Jackson. I’m picking Buffalo. I just think they are ready. And, I think I let my heart get in the way

Over the past week I have had to listen to the RI Four, our congressional delegation, reiterate unremarkable party line quotes about the assault and impeachment. Alas. I believe most RI’ers would most prefer them finding out why RI isn’t getting enough vaccine, and then doing something about it.

I seem to be on a Stevie Nicks Kick. Bear with me.

Yesterday I said that frivolous use of impeachment will dilute the significance an important controlling tool of Democracy. Let’s see: July 2017 – D Reps Sherman and Green Filed an article of impeachment; January 3, 2018 – “Impeach the Mother ******” -- Rshaida Talib; 2018 -- Nancy after installing the new Dem Congress: “He’s Just not worth it (Impeaching)”. “It would, divide the Country.

“I’m not a witch. I just like Halloween, and I thought that blondes look skinnier in black.”  -- Stevie Nicks.

A good reader who always dots his “i’s” and crosses his “t’s” is scared of this movement to ban people from social media, as big tech super wealthy, typically left leaning CEOs are doing now. And in addition, using there monopoly power to squelch alternative voices like Parler. Conservatives at least have always had talk radio as a balance against liberal biased print media ad main stream TV news. But now talkers are definitely in the cross hairs of the intolerant left. Powerful voices now labor under the threat of the dreaded pink slip for uttering opinions on a list of liberal no-no subjects. Radio corporations live in deathly fear of the left national boycotts of advertisers.

People tend to define people by first impressions, and proceed to build that impression into a fact. And almost all of the time have little idea of exactly what is in that person’s heart.

In talking about his banning of Trump’s Twitter account, Twitter CEO/Founder Jack Dorsey admitted yesterday, “that the power in the ‘global public conversation’ has set a dangerous precedent.” Duh.

Here we go again. A new Repub Congresswoman from Georgia, Marjorie Taylor Greene is going to file Articles of Impeachment against Biden. I’ve been telling you sine TI-! this impeachment thing is being diluted rapidly as small-minded political hacks run to it to “get even” with opposing parties.

The Answer:

Number one biggest SN hit is “Stop dragging’ My Heart Around. Next is “Dreams” followed by “Leather and Lace”, “Talk to Me”, “Stand Back”, “Sara”, “Rhiannon”, “Edge of Seventeen”, “I can’t Wait” and “Rooms on Fire”.
