Quiet Streets.

Today's Tids Issue 4,992

Step after Step:

Nothing proves to me faster that I was born several generations before toady’s 20 to 40 demographic than the MTV Video Music Awards. And, they let kids watch these videos?

Never get into a self-check-out lane behind a person with a lot of vegetables and fruits without barcodes that must be weighed and entered.

That above statement is classic sign of what’s wrong in America today. Somebody will accuse me of discriminating against fruit and vegetable eaters when all I am trying to do is advance is efficiency.

I realized this morning that this month of September which feels like it just began is almost half over. What on earth do I do that would make time pass so fast? Space out?

The Question:

Name the Ten Greatest Characters From HBO shows.

The Headlines:

--Markets Battle To End Draught; Dow And S&P Look Stronger.

--Technology Mavens Looking Forward To Tomorrow’s Apple “Biggest Show Of The Year”, First Look at iPhone gathering Anticipation; New Phone Expected To Have Satellite Capability.

--China Going Back To Policy Of Total Control; Could Be New Issue For Country’s Globally Traded Stocks.

--It is Expected at Corporate Tax Rate Will Climb To 26.5% Up From 21%; This Could Affect Earnings Reports; Biden Was Asking For 28%.

--Newsom Expected To Win In Recall Vote.

--Blinken Testifying Before Congress On Afghan Pull Out And Easy Taliban Takeover.

--Shortages Across Th Board Stymies’ US Economy.

--Tropical Storm Nicholas Could Dump 20 Inchs Of Rain On Gulf Coast.

As you may remember, about 8 weeks ago I began talking about the potential for the softening of the markets in the second week of September. It isn’t because anything has really changed that, much, it is just because more people start thinking seriously about the reality of off the charts growth in such a tenuous economic environment still subject to uncontrollably infections.

Ok – black leaders have ben overtly fighting segregation for at least ¾’s of a century. So, now the NFL and some other organizations are playing before events two national anthems, the Black National Anthem “Lift Your Voice and Sing” and the anthem for everybody Th Star Spangled Banner. I’m having trouble with that reasoning. It sounds like “separate but equal” to me, and I know for sure that is an historic no-no. It’s logic like this that has m stopping listening.

Violinist Nadia Salerno-Sonnenberg says that Brahms Violin Concerto must have been written by God.

Or, was that the Bruch concerto she was talking about.

I look at commercials for Gyms and they convince me of one thing: I don’t want to bee there. I see too many people too close together, with many next to each other peddling bikes to nowhere. I’d have to be social and glib, and bare my scrawny chest to well-toned strangers. I don’t get it.

A friend died last night. It was sudden. As you get older you know it is part of life. But there is always the emptiness even though you know that life isn’t forever.

The Answer:

Number One you may have guessed. It is Tony Soprano. Next is Tyrion Lannister (Game Of Thrones) followed by Omar Little (Wire), Sandor Clegane (GoT), Rust Cohle (The Detective), Arya Stark (GoT), Al Swearengen (Deadwood), Paulie “Walnuts: Gualtieri (Sopranos), Jon Snow (GoT) and David Stark (GoT). Larry David of Curb Your Enthusiasm was #12. GoT, Sopranos and Wire Dominated the Highest rankings.. Logan Roy of the Current I Successions only #67; Kendall Roy #62

Today’s Tids issue could easily be named “Slogging to 5K. There are days that flow, and others whether mind is slow.
