Been gassed.

Today's Tids Issue 5061

Love always seeps through:

Have you noticed that “P” starts both Present and Panic? And that is exactly what this week is all about.

It didn’t take a genius to predict a down opening this morning for the markets after a weekend of the media constantly talking about college shutdowns, athletic postponements and hospital crowding. Martes’s react to bad news. like Duh!

I would say that just about everybody in this world is addicted to something, It is just that seme people’s addictions are frowned upon by society.

Wall Street should have bee elated this morning after hearing that Joe Machin put the last nail in the BBB coffin.

Do they still sell live mistletoe? Or is that manufactured in China too. A kiss under smiling Xi. How romat8ic is that.

BTW, you really know BBB is a bad bill for America when you see a red-faced Bernie Sanders stammering and slobbering away on CNN declaring that the only Senator with real guts, Joe M, is lacks courage. How pathetic is Bernie.

This morning, one letter writer to the local newspaper tis orig called BBBB the “Build Bigger Bureaucracy Bill.”

The Question:

75 years ago today people in NYC were previewing a very famous movie starring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed. What was sit?

The Headlines:

--Markets Dimmer Than Rudolph’s Nose On A Foggy Stormy Night; Omicron Fears Heighten Distress In Investors Hearts; Machin Rejection Of BBB Disturbs Some Analysts.

--US Companies Confused By Fickle Minds Of Various Courts Deciding On Biden Vaccination Mandate.

--Death Tolls From Monster Philippine Typhoon Expected To Near 450.

--Schumer Says Senate Will Vote Despite Joee Manchin.

--New Covid Infections Up 41% Since Last Month; US Senators Warren And Booker Test Positive; Mask Requirements Being Imposed By Govs And Mayors For Large Gathering Places.

--Trump Sues NY AG Letita James To Stop Inquiry Ito His Business.

Down in the increasingly weird New Your City it appears that PETA is mad about a new sure-fire way to rid the city of a rapidly expanding rat population Even newly elected mayor Dem Eric Adams is all for the rapid eradication of those frightful marauders. But Peta says, “Rats just want to live their lives just like all NYC people do.” Is that statement insulting NY’ers or complementing the lives of ordinary rat families?

NYC is the largest of many US cities now looking to ban the use of gas for cooking and heating for all newly constructed buildings. This could be one of those little take an inch get a mile precedent setting decisions that is the first step to replacing gas in existing buildings. You know, the gov passes another couple of trillion to pay for it. So it’s free, right? No probelmo.

Elon Musk will have a tax bill of over $11 Billion this year. Doup bke yikes

A lot of wiser people have said that Joe Machin has saved the democrats from real embarrassment down the line.

More panic decisions are made by the last person at your table ordering in a restaurant.

The world indeed may be coming to an end. This morning Patriots stoic coach actually apologized to the media for his short snippy press conference after the Loss to the Colts.

The NFL playoff picture certainly didn’t get any clearer this past weekend. And the weekend won’t end until four more Covid delayed games are played today and tomorrow.

I another sign of the times item, Hedge funds are increasingly looking to get on board with adding cryptocurrency to their portfolios. The impetus: They see on the horizon more regulations and a potential orderly market place…. perhaps with an exchange.

The Around The World Ocean Sailing Race, formerly known as the Volvo, just revealed its global stopover schedule and this city by the sea, Newport, will be one on May 10, 2023. Just in case you happen to be in the area. It’s always huge and always fun.

I was in a big mall yesterday and I would say that people aren’t totally divorcee Birck and Mortar for online. It was a mob scene, with lots of peeps carrying lots of packages. My thoughts at the moment were, “Why in hell am I here?”

Alibaba is the world’s largest online and mobile trading company Unfortunately it is in China, or else it would be a sure thing holding in most portfolios.

Today is National Go Caroling Day. That should spread a little happiness thus countering the doom and gloom from the media spoon.

Groucho Marx once said, “Whoever named it necking is a poor judge of anatomy.”

One of the most annoying things of my current existence on this planet of ours is that I thought life would get better after I just bought a new smart phone. While my new phone works better in may ways, I cannot get replies to my texts from people who have iPhones. I don’t know whether or not this is just a ramification of iPhone aloofness syndrome opposed to my commonplace android system. My carrier can’t figure it out. And I have googled every possible solution on the net to avail. All I now really know is what it feels like to be unwanted.

The Answer:

I expect that everybody knew that the iconic movie first seen by the public 75 years ago today “It’s a Wonderful Life”.

By the way, it still is a wonderful life if you turn off the tube and stop listening to the culture warriors,
