Today's Tids Issue 5,057

Ban electronic tracking:

It’s called shortbread because it doesn’t last long.” Yum! (Thanks to Lynn Johnson).

If there’s a good video it’s going to be a nightly news feature regardless of whether or not it actually has any relevant news value. Maybe we should call these big daily network efforts: “Nightly Curiosities”.

The mechanics on Wall Street, those men and women who look at the real stuff behind the ups and downs are thinking now that the markets will be healthy, at last stable, through 2022 -- but watch out for 2023. It all as to do with the period of time following any Fed moves to increase rates. The shortest possible period preceding a serious downturn form such an action is about 11 mots. Historically, it has gone along peacefully for up to 3.5 years. But history never had a pandemic.  It is possible we will hear of a rate crease tomorrow. If so, tomorrow the I skittish investors will go bonkers, but based on history, investors-under-control will bring things back to normal pretty quickly

Over 400 towns and villages in NY state have nixed the idea of having marijuana retail outlets in their towns, medical or otherwise. These places are preferring being dry over getting high.  Does that mean that Pot safety is a “crock”?

Nostalgia is remembering a time when I knew more than my phone.

The Question:

Who do you think America has voted as their favorite characters on “Succession”?

The Headlines:

--Seate Coming Close To Raising Debt Ceiling.

--Gas Tanker Explosion In Haiti Kills 59; At Least 26 Dead In Tanker Collision In Channel.

--Massive Cleanup Continues In Kentucky And Three Oter States; Body Count expected To Rise.

I forgot a great American antelope yesterday I my “Q” answer --  like the American Pronghorn routinely found in Wyoming, Arizona, and New Mexico. Sorry, America.

The Voice had its final 2021 songfest last night and thee singing was good but I didn’t get terribly excited over much of it. I thought Jerishica and Wendy M were the best with Wendy really getting it done with Somewhere over the Rainbow. My favorites for the season, Girl Named Tom, were outstanding as usual, but I didn’t particularly like their songs. I think they are still the favored. Hailey Mia was very good and showed an enormous range of talent. Paris was good also but probably the weakest for the night. I think it is a tossup right now between Wendy Moten and Girl Named Tom.

The latest parenting fad, according to the Onion: Couples are waiting to announce their pregnancy until after their child has graduated college and become a partner in a successful law firm.

Have you noticed that our intrepid journalist seems to have their sights the owner of the candle factory? Do they always need to find a human villain after nature unleashes its anger? Are Journalists being paid off by personal injury lawyers? Typically, during a tornado it is safer to be in a big sturdy building.

A year ago today we had Arab peace deals, Iran in a box, Afghan quiet, China in check, USA respected as a power, Southern Borders controlled and cheap gas from the #1 producer of oil and gas, us. And people weren’t routinely killing each other and stealing at will.

Think about how disheartening it would be for you if the person you lived with was a hoarder and broke up with you?

The Answer:

Number one is the beleaguered Kendall Roy, probably the most sympathetic character. #2 is Greg Hirsch who doesn’t do much of anything. Then we have Gerri Killman followed by Roman Roy, Tom Wambsgas (My least favorite) Frank Vernon, Logan Roy ad Shiv Roy. Odd that these two probably main characters along with Kendall and Roman are so low. Then there are Stewy Hosseni, Conner Roy who is unnecessary, Karl Muller, Hugo Baker, Marcia Roy, Reva Roy and Lawrence Yee.

You typically don’t get much important mail on Tuesday and It appears that the Tids are a little light today too.

Just think… you name your kids a nobody will counter you demanding you have a combination of Capital and small letters, 3 or more numbers an one or two symbols like $#&*.

Be happy. There is still life beyond technology.
