I did it because it was right

Today's Tids Issue 5,050

Everybody is capable:

As the winds blew in

Gentle rolling surf

Rose up, surged

Like herds of wild horses

With flowing white manes.

I was struck.

By the relentless rush of the sea.

Powerful white steeds

Glistening neath the low winter’s sun

Nature, as nature can be.

It is now going to be hard to write about the harsh reality of living in this natural world of perpetual beauty.

I walk all over town, and just enjoy discovering some new little thing each day, But I have to be honest with you all. I am ow always o high alert looking for a safe place to dive lest some texting fool loses control of his or her car and it jumps the curb as I pass by. I think today I’ll talk about personal responsibility as an endangered human trait.

“The sheriff’s office confirms that two individuals were shot on the set of Rust.” The two “were shot when a prop firearm was discharged by Alec Baldwin, 68, producer and actor,” the statement said. I see where Alec Baldwins handlers have gotten to him and seem to be softening the idea that he “discharged the Gun” that shot Halyna Hutchins. I the big interview of which Is aw sippets, it appears they ae trying to turn him into the victim. I look at such celebrity interviews with all of the emotions and sobbing, always reminding myself that AB is a very good actor. But then, I am a cynic. I personally think, and several people agree, that he lost more than he gained with the interview.

The Question:

Name five characters in the Nutcracker Ballet.

The Headlines:

--Omicron Concerns Plus Big New Job Creation Miss Has Markets Crushed One Hour Before Closing.

--New Job Creation For November Of 210K Falls Far Short Of Estimated 550K.

--Parents Of Michigan HS Shooter Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter.

Is anybody but mothers of professional activists listening to protests anymore. To most intelligent, rational people they a have become nothing more than noise, or something to fill air time on nightly TV newscasts.

Apparently a big supermarket chain in the UK named Tesco got caught putting a little horsemeat in the Burger meat, as much as 30%. When the news was announced, British punsters went to work: “I'm so hungry, I could eat a horse. I guess Tesco just listened! --Does anyone want a burger from Tesco? Yay or neigh? --Not entirely sure how Tesco is going to get over this hurdle. --Had some burgers from Tesco for supper last night. I still have a bit between my teeth. --A woman has been taken into hospital after eating horse meat burgers from Tesco. Her condition is listed as stable. --Tesco are now testing all their vegetarian burgers for traces of unicorn. --"To beef or not to beef, that is equestrian".....” --I hear the smaller version of those Tesco burgers make great horse d'oeuvres. --These Tesco burger jokes are going on a bit. Talk about flogging a dead horse. --Since they're selling the meat wrapped in plastic, is that technically a "Trojan Horse?" --Instead of choosing "rare, medium or well done, it's now Win, Place or Show”. Bada bing!

There are some really important games in college football tomorrow. The big one is probably Geogia and Alabama. Bama the mighty has looked very pedestrian this year, at least for them. A win at Georgia would be very important for their power esteem. A loss could possibly knock them out of Championship chase.  If Michigan is riding too high after thee big OSU win last week, Iowa might win it all, but has no chance at all for the final four. The other two teams who ca make the final cut into the big four are Cincinnati and Oklahoma State. Okla State plays Baylor for the Big 12 title and Cincinnati plays a very good Houston team for eh AAC title. The champion series committee loves Bama, but with two losses not even they could justify keeping them. But if Georgia loses then Bama and the Bulldogs will stay. But if Michigan also loses it will solidify Cincy’s spot and probably add in Okla State too. If Cincy loses, Notre Dame, who is idle this weekend, might sneak I because there is nobody left to pick.  Othe big conference championship games are: ACC – Wake against Pitt; Pac 12 -- Oregon against Utah. I’m rooting for Utah. None of those have a shot.

Have you noticed that these days the cause of everything is climate change or covid? It is never because of some human error, or irresponsible or criminal action.

No commercial network is showing “A Charlie Brown Christmas this year. I wonder why? Exactly how did Charlie’s classic Christmas story offend the wokers?. It will be on PBS and Apple TV+.

The CB wonderful Christmas story is about “Good versus Goods”.

Did you ever think that taking somebody on a walk in the woods, up a mountain, alongside a calming lake or vast ocean is really an amazing gift.

Lest night the NBA Memphis Grizzlies beat The Oklahoma Thunder by 73 points. Why would anybody want to watch such a mess?

A national Highway safety group is commenting that this year has been the worst for highway deaths. The conclusion was that all new efforts should go to “Reimagining highway systems as opposed to focusing on individual responsivity. 94% of accident s are directly tied to human error, aggression or recklessness. But now there is a lot of money around to fix roads. Nice, but people will still be driving taking drugs and booze, speeding; carelessly and too aggressively; distracting themselves away from the main driver function.

It seems to me lately that every time you look around somebody is making an excuse for somebody’s irresponsible, negligent or even premediated malicious act.

RI’s may be the smallest state, but it is also the Largess state, Department:

Yesterday the RI big Government Employee Union overwhelmingly voted for the new contract. Their leadership said it was the most enthusiastic approval of a contract in history. Do you know why? in addition to generous wage increases for three years, it gives $3000 dollars to each member as a bonus for getting a vaccination shot! Wait a minute… to make it fair, every responsible person who on their own got a shot, will also get the $3K!  And even fairer, we citizens will pay the $3K to all state workers who won’t get a shot because of religious beliefs. Hey… did I just describe a boondoggle.! The governor, who just assured himself of about 4,000 I 2022 votes from happy workers, said, “it is good for tax payers because it will assure they will be working, Did he just use government employees and working in the same sentence.?

RI has had some doozies, but this may be the worst eve.

I have a Charlie Brown Christmas tree, and I’m proud of it.

The Answer:

First, there is Clara. Then then there is The Nutcracker – Hans Peter, Drosselmeyer, The Sugar Plum Fairy and The Mouse King. Ad all of the other players who are so colorful. Go out and find a performance of this classic. It’s fun.

Have a great weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
