A camel kind of week

Today's Tids Issue 5,201

Simmering down:

This is kind of a wind down hump day. Actually, Monday was probably hump day for this week preceding the big 4th Weekend. Maybe this will be the summer weekend when people suck it up to buy that last expensive tank of gas. That could spell trouble for tourist areas at the end of summer. Ah, the fourth. Independence Day. Wouldn’t be nice if Congress started their summer recess July, making J-A independence days for taxpayers.

Believe it or not, I actually did something today, except getting the Tids out early.

Now that pot is apparently being made legal across the country, I expect we’ll see of health research coming out saying why Marijuana is bad for you. That; seems to be the way it works.

Knock! Knock!

Who’s there?
Control Freak.
Con…
OK, now you say, “Control Freak who?”

The Question:

What was Gary Busey’s greatest role?

You may have noticed that I have been sending out a lot of quotes lately. But, one reader warns: “The problem with quotes on the Internet is you never know if they are the truth.” --Abraham Lincoln

Sinking to the bottom fast, Department:

Can you spell, G-i-u-l-i-a-n-i? Either the media are just making up stuff more than usual or Rudy a has lose this mind.

In 20 years, I bet there's going to be a college course called eye contact.

Really, do we need any more laws? You can find most of the basic laws for society in the Ten Commandments. Most of the new lawmaking in congresses centers a on how to spend more money or regulate freedom.

There are far fewer high school students, and that population will grow smaller. So, what does that affect? How about small colleges. There are many it appears who are struggling stay above water with today's level of student applications. It is expected that 20% of colleges will disappear within 5 years. It is that bad. Regions like New England and to a lesser extent, the northern Midwest, will be hit hardest. There are just too many small, underfunded colleges barely making it at current student body levels that will fade away or reinvent themselves entirely with the for sure arrival of a diminishing pool of potential students.

College is the opposite of kidnapping. They demand $100,000 from you or they'll send your kid back.

It will be interesting to hear what Secret Service Agents Ornato and Engel have to say about denying Hutchinson's testimony aboaut the steering wheel grab, this according to CNN)

The Answer:

Gary got a lot of favorable reviews for The Buddy Holly Story, but number one is Point Break. Some others ae The Firm, Lethal Weapon and Surviving the Game.

The mathematics professor called me average, That's so mean.

This was a short and snappy Tids today, And not so snappy at that. I’ll try to better next Tuesday. Or perhaps Friday.
