Remember the “U”.

Today's Tids Issue 5,192

The other 80%:

164 years ago today, Abe said, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” Uh-oh, we are in trouble.

A new poll out yesterday says that 50% of Americans think democracy will disappear. Unfortunately, about 75% of Americans don’t know this democracy thing is.

Somebody has to come to the defense of corporate America, you know the basic source of everybody’s income, and the taxes that ay the income of public sector workers.

These last several days have felt like Fall nestled among explosions of pretty spring flowers.

And then God parted the clouds and gave a gift to all comedians: Fauci has Covid.

The Question:

The US Open begins today and is being played at the old and venerable “The Country Club” in Brookline Mass. It is one if the five founding member clubs of the USGA, Name the other four.

The Headlines:

Every story I read lately about the RI transportation department and Boston DPW improving roads, I see the majority of new funds going for adding bikes paths that only serve to squeeze traffic, and frankly, are barely used by anybody.

Anything for a buck, Department:

A venue in Brooklyn announced a special musical event featuring just released Reagan shooter, Brady maimer and Guotarist John Hinckley. It sold out immediately. What’s wrong with this picture.? These people vote. The venue just cancelled the show after intensive backlash, offering several mealy mouth excuses.

I may make a lot of typos, but if Spell-Check is any indication of of artificial intelligence, then don't let it drive your car.

One of the worst things about the climate change warriors is that they have forgotten all about the word evolution.

3 or 4 miles below the ocean there is another society living in its own world without sun under tremendous pressures and unbelievable cold. Yet life flourishes. They feed on chemicals from thermal vents in the absence of photosynthesis. It just says to me that there is easily life on any other planet even though they don’ have what are called ideal conditions for human species. But they are ideal conditions for another species. A human flaw is thinking everything should be like us, including next door neighbors.

Adaptability to change is an innate quality to all of us if we ever choose to go there.

Do memory foam mattresses forget who you are as they get older?

Media is writing a lot of stories about the US Open that tend to serve their own personal objectives as opposed to how the game will be played and who might win it all. The oddsmakers have Rory Mcilroy on top followed by Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler, Cam Smith, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantley, Jordan Spieth, Mathew Fitzpatrick and at #10 Sam Burns. I'll be watching Sam Burns.

People like to talk about the flaws of corporate executives but forget there are equal various and sundry human flaws among all segments of any society. Regardless of which segment of society. there is always a bell curve.

Media has created perceptions that people take as truths and most of them are the other side of facts. I may het into this tomorrow.

The Answer:

The other four founding member clubs are Newport (RI) Country Club where the first Open was played, Chicago Golf Club, Shinnecock Hills GC (Long Island NY) and Saint Andrews in Ardsly NY.

Today is, National Fudge Day. With that happy thought, I’m outta here! Love your day.
