Complacency kills.

Today's Tids Issue 5,236

I can see it coming:

We seem to live in a moment of time where we have instant rapturous emotions and even faster deflations. So, anything you can add to every heart leap that will live on is worth more thana Billion Dollar win in Powerball. Or not.

Just to as a reminder of how fleeting and fragile the stock market emotions can be -- it appears that after a minor disaster day we are headed fair an up day simply because Nancy left Taiwan and we didn't start WWIII! How great is that! Buy. Buy. Buy.

For all of you who love to bury your faces in a summer treat, cold juicy Watermelon, Today is National Watermelon Day.

But today may be also considered double entendre day if you consider it is also National Grab Some Nuts Day! Ouch!

Knock knock.

Who’s there?

Interrupting cow.

Interrupting c–

MOO!

I know you had at least a little smile there.

The Question:

Who are considered the greatest guitarists of all time.

The Headlines:

--Wall Street Opens Higher As Nancy Leaves Taiwan Without Incident.

--Abortion Ban Amendment Goes Down In Kansas.

--Burn Pit Legislation To Aid Vets Passes After Dems Adjust Funding Wording.

It is still too early to tell in some of the big Tuesday primary races like Arizona for sure. The really big news heartens Dems for November in that heavily Repub  Kansas soundly rejected an amendment banning abortion. The Dems, who always have a large people majority could by energized by that most emotional issue of our times and bring the Dems back to Congress in November. Repubs who have already written a big Red Wave into their history books better get back to focusing on whet will be a closer than expected election in November.

The only thing flat earthers have to fear is sphere itself.

I get the feeling that Nancy planned her Asian trip to take the spotlight off of Hubby Paul’s antics.

People generally look at Vince Skully as one one of the great baseball announcers for sure. But as a kid who grew up with Brooklyn Blood in my soul and as an inveterate Dodger fam, I wasn’t so sure about Vin as eh was replacing some of my favorites at the times, Red Barber and Connie Desmond. And then they moved my beloveds to LA which basically had me giving up on Baseball until the Red Sox captured my heart. So, I associate Vin with the team that wasn’t Brooklyn.

And besides, Vin Skully grew up a devout fan of the NY Giants, a mortal enemy of the Dodgers. I had as a kid many a tussle with NYG fans.

My biggest position on political questions is almost always   centered State versus Fed controls. I like to see everything eventually go to states. And I side with every SC ruling that goes in that direction. At times it may sound like I am for or against a specific issue, but it is only where it will be controlled is what I care about.

National anthems are country music.

The Answer:

#1 is Jimi Hendrix. The rest in order are Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), David Gilmore (Pink Floyd), Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eris Clapton, Eddie Van Halen, BB King, Les Paul, Muddy Waters and Roy Clark. The Next five are Chuck Berry, Carlos Santana, Jeff Beck, Richie Blackmore and Duane Allman.

A good and reasoned analytical reader says, “Calling the Build Back Better Bill the Anti-inflation Act is like calling the "All you can eat buffet” at the Golden Corral a weight loss clinic.

What's wrong with the “All you can eat buffet” at the Golden Corral?

If I had a hammer, I’d built a cabin on a quiet lake. And sit and enjoy the peace of the world after the banging was over.
