Like gold.

Today's Tids Issue 5,354

Relativity rules:

One thing that I have found

As my life goes round and round.

Is that friends and relatives alike

Are like the proverbial riding a bike;

That the closeness of remember when,

Is always the same when met again.

The Jolly Green Giant will always be remembered for giving us peas at last.*

Every once in a while, you read a news story with a happy ending, And one was yesterday when the 9-year-old Charlotte Sena from upstate NY was found healthy and alive and unharmed. It seemed rare in this world of creeps. And it literally made my heart smile.

I wish the stock markets were headed to a happy ending.

The Question:

Today in 1789 George Washington proclaimed a special new National Holiday. What was it? Bonus: Who crteated the Bikinin and why was it named Bikini?

The Headlines:

--Rising Bond Yield (Approaching 2007 High) Brings Stocks to Their Knees; AI Not Enough Anymore to Keep Nasdaq Booming.

--FTX/Sam Bankman-Fried Criminal Crypto Trial Begins.

--Matt Gaetz Moves to Oust McCarthy.

--14-Year-Old Shooter Kills Three in Bangkok Thailand High End Mall.

--Powerball Jackpot Hits $1.2 Billion.

--Parents of Michigan School Shooter to Stand Trial on Involuntary Manslaughter Charges.

Republicans always find a way to shoot themselves in the foot. Getting rid of McCarthy is just the latest. The “Bloc” is just as reactionary as the Left who wants to shut down petroleum for just the sake of shutting down petroleum.

The vote to advance to a committee is expected in a few hours. The last time this vote was held to move to oust a speaker was in 1910 with the Repub (Ill) Joe Cannon

Lots of babies are being born, and yes it is 1946, the year when the boomer crowd began, a generation that would basically determine national economic strategies until this very day. We are at peace and the soldiers are coming home, but there was a major shortage of Jobs and housing. The Neurenberg War Crimes trials began, and the UNICEF and Menza Society were created. But everybody was smiling in Paris as Bikinis went on sale for the first time. The U of Pee nn reveals the first step in what controls our lives today, “ENIAC” a slightly bigger than a breadbox computing machine (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer). You know the old pun, Th e practicality of using Tupperware for coffins remains to be seenWell Tupperware was invented in 46 and was considered quite the technological advance. But people were mystified early about how to use it. I moved into a nice new house two housles away from where we had been living and my mother moved out 60 years later. I should go back and see what initials I carved into the trees around it. The place was loaded with old wooden skis when we moved in, and a cool garden bench which I'm looking at right now. I was still finding a way ot survive in grammar school, as the courses got tougher. But regardless, I always had fun.

Boston and Milwaukee are now considered the One-Two teams in the NBA. Let's hope Red Sox or Pats management doesn’t get a hold on the Celtics.

Speaking of sports... Where all of a sudden did the Houston Texans come from?

I had to laugh when I heard Joe B say to Congress, “Stop playing games.” He was the greatest gamester of them all, and still is.

76% of Americans in a new Monmouth poll say the Joe is too old to run. Joe will be 80 in November and Don will be 78 next June. I guess what the people are saying is that the appearance of advancing age is the determinant. I personally don’t adhere to the statement, too old to do anything.

That trial of the Michigan shooter parents will have reverberation effects for sure.

Time to buy a Powerball ticket!

*Thanks to “Jumble” for a little vegetable humor this morning.

I typically like faster greens except when the pin placement is on the side of a cliff.

I think I will have a lot of trouble with AI thinking it knows what I am going to do or what I mean.

The Answer:

George said November 26 would be a day of Thanks – Thanksgiving Day. And it is still one of the best ever days to celebrate. Bonus: The Bikini was created by French designer Louis Reard. The risque two-piece swimming suit took its name from the recent atomic testing done by the United States at Bikini Atoll. It is interesting to know the genealogy of its inception: During World War II women's swimming suits gradually got smaller and became two pieces due to a combination of fabric use restrictions and societal changes. But, they had still been relatively conservative compared to Reard's newly developed much smaller two-piece swimming suit.

Enjoy a friend today.
