My name is Ashley.

Today's Tids Issue 5,402

There are always signs:

Hey everybody... Today is National Gingerbread House Day! Just in case you have nothing to do on your craft table today.

November was colder than December. Is winter over?

In a hypothetical matchup between Haley and Biden, Haley won. Yes, in a new WSJ Poll, Trump is ahead of Haley and DeSantis by 30 Points. But now in the same poll, when Haley is pulled out to match up against Biden, Haley wins 51-34, which is more than the Trump margin. Very interesting. In other words, Biden is really weak, and it doesn’t take a Trump o beat him.

The Question:

Who are the top robotics companies in the world?

The Headlines:

--Stocks Mixed but Tick Up After CPI Meets Estimates -- Shows Slowing in November; Hope Abounds in Hearts of WS Denizens.

--Israel Losing Support of Broad Group of Countries; Netanyahu Rejects Biden Plans for postwar Agreement.

--Chris Sununu, Gov of NH, Expected to Endorse Nikki Haley.

--UN Calls for Cease Fire in Gaza.

I see where Oracle‘s stock got dumped by 9% today. Local Newport homeowner Larry Ellison will have ot wait another year before painting the north side of his mansion. There goes a lot of work for local craftsmen. Get my drift?

Inflation may slow to nothing, but restaurants will keep the prices sky high.

Les Misérables and The Hunchback of Notre Dame are remarkably accurate. But then they say history is written by the Victors.

One of the least revealed aspects of our economy that may become a problem in the future is declining available cash. By Selling Treasuries as part of its Quantitative “Tightening” program, the Fed is drianing100’s of Billions in cash for our system. The power of available cash has kept the markets appearing healthy when innards ofte economy are showing some deterioration.

“Even a paranoid can heave enemies.” -- Henry Kissinger.

1982 saw the much overdo dedication of the Viet Nam Mnemorial in DC. There was a collective gasp as across the nation Americans felt the enormity of the tragedy of all those lives lost. The suffering beyond. The prevailing morass within the country revolved around high mortgage interest rates. I was there. But with all of this, the nation seemed more excited about Michael Jackson's Thriller. But I was more worried about the government breaking up AT&T. I don’t like the government breaking things. Genetic Engineering had a breakthrough with the development of Human Insulin produced by bacteria. Zowie!! People were smiling and dreaming as "ET” soared though our hearts and captivated imaginations. David Letterman brought laughs to stodgy CBS. Disney Openid EPCOT. Time Mag named “The Computer" as its Man of the Year. And the country finally broke out of its lethargy when the Dow crossed over 1000 again. A new car cost $7,983 and a bag of Cheese Puffs costs 89 Cents. A Sony 19-inch TV costs $499. The first CD came out a it was magic for music lovers. I still have 4-500 CDs and they still work just fine. And the First isue of USA Today was published, and it amazed the publishing world. It heled develop the short attention span American. I have to say I was not big fan of any of the top songs. Was this the result of my suddenly becoming old with my 50th Birthday. But, to stay safe, I burned all mail coming from AARP. ET, Rocky 3, An Officer and a Gentleman and Porky's were the hot movies. Poltergeist was scary and Annie was fun. Porky’s? But, in my world there was a lot of transitioning going on in USA Manufacturing as steel was no longer the center of our economic universe and things like Cad and Cam and embryonic computer breakthroughs were what really mattered now. The Japan and Germany were not only making it big in America with cars, but they were crushing the US in the development of tools for manufacturing and production. Things change, and you could see it happening in 1982.

Don't make jokes about British cuisine. That' just tasteless.

There are two kinds of pedestrians. One who waves and says thanks to a driver when a car stops to let them pass, and the other who stares straight ahead without acknowledgement because they feel it is an entitlement. Yup I think that says something about the cultural divide.

In 1982 Israel invaded Lebanon. Lebanon in turn murdered thousands of Palestine refugees in a West Bierut refugee camp. Just in case you need a little more background on the current conflict.

If somebody named Ashely calls, don’t be fooled by her syrupy persuasiveness. She is an AI Generative political caller. The voice will sound very real and can hold friendly, meaningful conversations with anybody who dares to answer, because it reads your profile before calling. It is now being used by Democrats in a Pennsylvania congressional race, but it is on the plate to be used nationally by the DNC. Sorry, all you real Ashleys, but she is off my call list for quite a while.

There are some who are sayng, that if Biden gets the nomination, the voters will be asked to be picking a Hillary/Barak ticket over any Repub. Because that’s who you will be seeing campaigning. Not Joe. Interesting thought.

In 1982 I was involved with the inner workings of a pretty powerful news weekly magazine serving the USA manufacturing industries. Our editor, quite a well-known guy, came to me and suggested we start writing about American’s crying need to redo its infrastructure. A great timely idea, we both thought. Congress finally latched onto the idea a couple of years ago. What are they missing today.

America has operated like a condominium association with an inadequate or no reserve fund.

Just in case you are interested, I have heard all I’ll ever need to know about the return of Bronny.

The Answer:

Over 3 milllion robots are working in fatciories around the world. Number one Robotics company is Switzerland's ABB. It is followed by Mitsubishi, Fanuc, Yaskawa Electric, California's Adept Technology (Omron), Apex Automation, Staubi, Kawasaki and Rockwell Automation. Other lists may include Epson, Universal, Kuku and Denso. IRobotis aname often heard.

It's a delightful day. I gotta go for a walk.

And just remember, if Ashley calls, don’t answer. Unless its your daughter.
