Every which way but up

Today's Tids Issue 5,465

Mindless moments are good:

So, that's it. Biden versus Trump. Trump versus Biden. Whatever way you look at it, that’s it. Wow. Pretty discouraging.

If I was the basketball coach at Dartmouth, I'd be handing in my resignation right this minute. Coach in college basketball is tough enough in this new world of Portals and LIV, but having a Union Steward in the huddle is beyond the tolerance of any coach.

America relies mainly on two key materials – lithium and salt. Lithium is essential to the growth of advanced battery Applicaitons for alternative energy, and without salt the entire restaurant business would collapse.

Birth control pills for dogs is an anti-litter campaign.

The Question:

What popular cookie was introduced to the world by National Biscuit Company in 1912? Bonus: What was Mohamed Ali's original Name?

The Headlines:

--Encouraging Words about Rate Cuts from Powell Has Markets Rallying;

--Nikki Nixes Run; She Wins Vermont.

--Trump Wins Every Super Tuesday State but Vermont. Biden Wins Every Super Tuesday Location except American Samoa.

--750 NY National Guard Soldiers Sent into Ride NYC Subways as Violent Incidents Continue to Grow,

--McConnell Backs Trump; Haley Doesn’t.

I’m afraid of the dark especially when eating in dark restaurants now because I can’t tell where a chef may have hidden a mushroom or a slice of squash. Scary.

I enjoyed that new TV show Elsbeth. weird name and all. Basically, it is the great old “Columbo” show all over again but starring a woman in the super sleuth role. Same sense of plot.

The Biden Man came out today talking about how corporations should start lowering prices because inflation is so low now. No Joe, Inflation is slowing its growth, but the higher costs that increased prices are not receding. That’s not how it works. Of course, you have to believe that Joe or that at least his handlers know that. It is a great way to fool the public though. It forgot to mention that in the service industries of today labor is the big cost and his admin isn't helping that with repeated calls for higher min wages, which necessarily force wages above min wage higher. I have been yelling at my radio a lot lately.

Did you ever notice how an MBA graduate complicates a simple thought. You can make more money with complications.

You’ll always stay young if you live honestly, eat slowly, sleep sufficiently, work industriously, worship faithfully and lie about your age.

Did you hear about the new trend. Well, it will be a trend because that’s what public relations people do. And people who like being trendy will buy into it rather easily because that’s what trendy people do. The trend in the making is eating cereal for dinner. Adn Kellogg's is all behind it. Like Duh. The CEO rapturously describes it as a way to stay healthy and beat inflation too, (Fruit plus milk plus is about a dollar a dinner). How altruistic is this great old company. If course Kellogg's is looking for a 25% increase in sales. If they can make Beef-i-oes I might be in.

A cat that swallows a ball of yarn has mittens.

The opinion I hear in many corners of the public domain not quite captured by the presidential polls, “I voted happily for Trump the first time. I reluctantly voted for him the second time. But now I can’t consider voting for him at all. And I won't vote for Biden.”

The Answer:

Oreo Cookies first when to market 112 years ago today. And, they still got it. Bonus: Cassius Marcellus Clay was Ali’s original Name, but he thought it sounded too much like a slave name.

Cereal and fruit for dinner. Count me out.
