Pasta and Passion.

Today's Tids Issue 5,478

What party:

Today is a good day for Ravioli Lovers and lovers truly in love. Today is “National Dive into a Bowl of Ravioli Day and “National Suck it up and get on your knees and ask your girl what she wants to hear.” Day. It’s a great day for loving pasta and love itself.

The Repub Party and probably the entire country is lacking in Idealism. Shooting higher, raising all standards. Believing how great we are, can be. I have heard lately from people on both sides of the spectrum; People I know and strangers talking on the street; people saying we need a Ronald Reagan type guy to boot us all in the ass again. To speak of the “Shining City on the Hill.”

Of interest in Tuesday's Primaries, the “Other” category was still over 20% and the drift of Hispanics towards the GOP was confirmed again.

People are giving Trump credit. He doesn't have a lot of cash

The Question:

This year, The USA dropped out of the top 20 Happiest Countries in the world. Name the countries ahead of US, now 23.

Wyndham Clark's putt that missed on hole #72 of the Player's may have been the biggest heart break of the Millenium.

All that Prince William has to do is open his front door and walk out holding Kate's hand, if that is at all possible. There are always media there to capture any moment. Sounds much too simple.

E-Waste (Electronic stuff thrown away) is about to become a major environmental problem—62 Million Metric Tons in 2022. Stay tuned on this one.

You know, there is a way to make the environment strong and resilient without hating others who may not have the exact same idea.

The elites in America and the regular old voters for the most part tend to disagree significantly. The problem is that the Elite have microphones.

There are a lot of headlines today about how the Trump candidate won the Repub primary in Ohio. Yet the question lately has been, does a Trump candidate have a chance against the Dem candidate.

I just flew back from a ravioli convention. Boyardees arms tired

This is interesting. BoA’s CEO Brian Moynihan is warning Fed's Powell to be more cautious about economy's future and not depend upon consumers to propping up the economy. Moynahan says, “Consumers are beginning to burn out. The BOA is trying to out-conservative the conservative Fed.

“If you are the light of the world” a city on the hill cannot be hidden.”

About a million kids didn't make it to the light in 2023.

I went to a lecture this morning about why it is hard to understand the meaning of the US political parties. How they have shifted along with the times over the last 150 years. There are plenty of reasons. But I believe it is partly because the messages are all about what’s wrong with the other guy instead of what’s great about America and how strong leadership can inspire the vast majorities to come together to make it good for all.

I remember about 25 years ago telling a few people that Intel was probably like the US Steel of the next generation of industrial progress. And here we are today with Intel still representing the underpinnings of what makes things work better today. The world that was once built upon iron pigs is now built upon chips of silicon. And Intel is doing just fine.

The Answer:

Number one is Finland followed by Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, Israel(?), Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Costa Rica, Kuwait, Austria, Canada, Belgium, Ireland, Chechia, Lithuania and United Kingdom at #20. We are number 23 and Germany is Number 24. Afghanistan is at the bottom of the happiness list.

I particularly love the Shrimp Ravioli at Localz, a restaurant up north of here in Island Park. Yeah, I’ll probably dream of that all night long.
