Platitudes.

Today's Tids Issue 5,567

Is summer over yet:

Was Nikki Haley's heart really into it last night?

Our favorite Tids Punster Laureate wrote this morning saying he had just received an email about how to read maps backwards, It was spam.

I read this morning in the local paper that the Newport Garden tour of Mid-September has been cancelled Thye say it is because of concerns about the weather. Say what? Talk about living under a c black cloud hoping for the worst. You just gotta see the sun.

The Question:

Who are the Top Ten Female Politicians of All Time

The Headlines:

--China Curb Risks Has B Nas Plunging; Dow opens Positive After Uge Tuesday;

--UK’s King Chalres Unviels Labout r Parti y;s Agressive Recie for Economic Growth.

--USINvestohgating Nes of Iran Based Paln to At  ssisnate R Trump.

-- Biden INner Circle Sg hrinikng as Dems See Posible Huge Sweep in NOvemrbe, losin H9use nasenate along WIth Chief Excutive.

--AL Wins All Star Game with Bstns young

It seems Dem leaders are worried that the Repubs don’t appear dysfunctional anymore. The only guy outside the tent now is Chris Christie, who btw, I still enjoy listening to. He keeps people honest.

I hope AI is smarter than spellcheck.

Irony department:

Musk is bullish on the team of Trump and Vance even though Turmp is anti EV and Vance is over the top anti EV. But Musk understands that if the US takes away EV subsidies, his competitors will suffer, not him.

Speaking of not understanding something how about the Tour de France rankings. Pogocar and Philipsen have each won 3 stages and Pogocar has the prizes yellow jersey, And Philipsen is not ranked in the top Ten. Maybe the scoring was designed by the same guy who did Soccer.

The Open Championship begins tomorrow at Troon. The experts have winners from all over the place. Of course, Brian Harmon was the surprise winner last year, so in this tough environment anything is possible especially when the LIV players join in. Picks range from Tony Finau, to Louis Oosthuizen to young and upcoming Aberg. The big pick among experts is whether or not Tiger wikl finish. The consensus says he will, The odds maker s have it Schiffler, McIlroy, Schaufele, Aberg, Morikawa, Dechambeau, Fleetwood, Rham, Hatten, Hovland, Macintyre, Koepka, Finau, Kim, Lawry, Cantlay Cameron Smith. Last year’s champ Haron is at 28. I’d say, there is plenty of room for a good surprise.

One of the ocean windmills offshore here lost a turbine blade. They say it is over a hundred meters long. That's the size of a football field. You gotta hope whales don’t try to mate. Ouch!

I’m getting tired of speeches and reality TV. I need dramas with good plots not infected with wokism. That is, if I can stay awake long enough to see the endings.

While we’re shouting in Milwaukee, it appears highly likely that Israel and the Lebanon Hezbollah will go to war. The word. "Catastrophe” has been mentioned. Iran is happy about that.

One of our smarter than average readers ran a successful 12-page newsletter that would come out several times a year. It was called “The Network” and it was all about the life and times of bandleader, the one and only Stan Kenton for all his fans globally. If you are interested, I can give you a link.

The Answer:

Remember, this isn’t a popularity contest, just an analysis: Number 10 is Indira Ghandi, with nine being Anne Richards. Moving to the top we have Benazir Bhutto, Nancy Pelosi, Eleanor Roosevelt, Condoleezza Rice, Yulia Tymoshenko, Angela Merkel, Margaret Thatcher, and number one, Good ole Hillary. Nikki Haley was number 12 sandwiched between Golda Maier and Eva Peron.

"To do is to be" Plato

"To be is to do" Aristotle

"Do be do be do" Frank Sinatra.

See you early tomorrow.
