Band-ade days.

Today's Tids Issue 4.671

Stop and Think:

Alexa doesn’t listen to you when you are chewing food. Amazon engineers must have consulted with Emily Post.

The groups that don’t want to listen to the other side are really not looking for solutions.

If you are concerned about Alexa listening into your conversations, you can now buy a new male version. It doesn’t listen to anything.

“Frankly scallop, I don’t give clam”, Department:

I just heard that HBO is dropping the all-time movie favorite “Gone with the Wind” from its schedule because of you know what. Here we go again – ban everything while the iron is hot.

The Question:

What is “Gaslighting”. Bonus: What are five ways gas lighters manipulate relationships and/or communities.?

The Headlines:

--Markets Look Mixed, Drifting While l Waiting For Fed; Apple Soaring, Pushing Nasdaq Up: Boeing Sinks While Tesla Strengthens.

--Online Auto Retailing Could Be On Verge Of Surge.

--Derek Chauvin And George Floyd Sad To Have Known Each Other; Had Contentious Relationship According to Multiple New Sources.

--Bernie Not In favor Of Defunding Police; Intelligent Dems Backing Off “DF” Phrase; Former Clinton Benefactor Terry McAuliffe Says Dems Prefer That Biden Stay In Cellar.

--GOP Now Looking At Jacksonville For Convention.

--Floyd Bro Testifying Before House Judiciary Committee.

--19 States Now Seeing Rise In CV Cases; Arizona Asks Hospitals To Activate Emergency Plans.

One of the misconstrued ideas permeating though society is that in order to build somebody up you have to tear somebody else down.  There is plenty of room for all people to grow equally.

The left must be loving Covid as it has systematically destroyed the Trump economy, riddled nasty big oil company profits and ceded unheard powers to governors.

I think that tomorrow the Tids has to get back to romance.

Is it conceivable that Governors are seeing defunding Police as a way to make up for state budgets devastated by the Corona shutdowns? When politicians are involved, anything is conceivable.

The Stockholm syndrome is described as a condition in which hostages develop a psychological alliance with their captors during their captivity. Sound a lot like the current Governor Citizens’ relationship.

A group called “Fatal Encounters” has been trying to compile accurate data bout people killed by police. They compared their date with that of similar data published by the Washington Post. In 2019 was 1,531.  21.5% were black, 16.5% Hispanic, 3.1% Asian. 1.3% Native American, and 44.9% white. The data shows that blacks are killed at a slightly higher rate than other races.

How do we get out from under the harangue? i\It is not by acquiescing.

I have fewer typos when typing on my phone. Weird.

The Answer:

Gaslighting is a popular phrase that may be defined as traumatizing, exploiting or having people question their own sanity in order to achieve their own goals, mainly by control.: Interestingly, the term Gaslighting comes from a 1944 move “Gaslight”, where a husband systematically tormented his wife by convincing her she was insane. It starred Charles Boyer, Ingrid Bergman, Joseph Cotton, Meg Whitty and Angela Lansbury. Bonus: Favorite gaslighting techniques are Chronic Lying -- If you repeat it often enough it tends to become accepted as the truth. Next is “Normalizing falsehoods”. Then we have “Suppressing Dissent” followed by “Be aggressive and hostile when confronted”, “Isolate and Divide”, “Perpetuate fake savior myths”, “Offer false promises”, and finally “Social domination and Psychological control” – the ultimate purpose I power and control by weaponizing false information and repeatedly bombarding victims with propaganda  and disempowering messages.

I always go the extra mile. Generally, because I missed the exit.
