Needing funny.

Today's Tids Issue 5,300

All over the place:

Along the road we may find some woes,

But to me, as the old story goes,

It's always best to not worry’

And keep on smelling that rose.

The global population just passed 8 billion People. Now there is a problem that will affect everybody eventually. The earth will be trying to support just under 10 billion people by 2050. Food is certainly one of our growing problems It is expected that over half of the growth will be in just 8 countries — DRC (Congo), Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and Tanzania. Even as Birth rates may decline, aging populations over 65 that lives much longer will be a large aspect of the forecasted growth. As you can imagine, new challenges in feeding people and caring for financing longer lives will be significant. And, I have to expect much more migration and blending of societies. We may or may not ever stop a changing climate, but the negative effects of population growth can be minimized if we have intelligent, fair minded people in charge.

WWIII is a bad idea. It appears that cooler heads are prevailing, and that evidence is showing there was no attempt at all to bomb Poland. Why would anybody want to bomb all of those lovable Poles anyhow.

There is little sadder today than seeing a picture of an infant with RVS

Today is National Button Day. It is a Reminder to old men to button (Zipper) up when leaving public men's rooms.

“Talor Version”, Department.

Taylor swift is not only one of the all-time great entertainers, she a smart, gutsy businesswoman. Long story short, she fought the system and one. She proved that ownership of her created works music was hers and not producers and promoters. Now she has re-released some of her greatest music with clear album designation “Taylor Version”. If you buy Taylor, look for "TV”.

Benjamin Netanyahu appears to be nothing more than a puppet for the Israel conservative theocracy. I always liked Netty, but his woes have gotten to him. And it seems that his need to return to power for several reasons played beautifully with the plans of the most conservative ranch of Israel politics ever. He gets elected and they get the power positions. A very good friend of mine, an Israeli with historic ties to leadership there, and quite conservative himself, agrees, that the new Right is a troubling situation for the future of the country.

If Trump loses the Repub primary in 2024, you can probably win some money betting that he will run as an independent. Then the Repubs lose again.

I personally like Mitch McConnell. If everybody remembers, he is the guy who saved the SC Judge nominations for the Repubs.

Today is National Fast-Food Day. Oh my God... where do I start!

One thing you can always count on... if there is a country singer contestant on The Voice, he or she will probably win the playoffs.

There is news coming out that Dem campaign strategists are already working on countering Trump attacks on Biden. I won’t start listening for 23 months. S God save sus all from political rhetoric.

Kevin Spacey was just charged with seven more sexual offenses in the UK. He is starting to sound like an NFL player.

The Answer:

Chick Young started the Blonde comic Strip in 1930. Of course, there is Blonde and Dagwood. There are the kids Alex and Cookie, and the dog Daisy. Blodne has a pal Tootsie and Dag is good friends with Tootsie’s Herb, Mt Dithers torments Dagwood in the office. But the boss never wins at home against Cora Dithers. And little kid Elmo is always interrupting his nap. Lunch counter chef Lou creates meals that disturb Dag’s stomach. Then there is Mr. Beasley the postman who continually survives Dag's runs out the front door. We also have as regulars Mike Morelli, the Barber who wrestles with Dag's unusual hair style and eh the lovable carpoolers, Claudia and Dwitzell.

Reading simple comics is a great way to start the day. Maybe if the NY Times had comics, the world would be a better place.
