When everything is still up in the air and you can’t do anything about it, just start the day off with a groan. Thanks again to a most brilliant reader.
But a lot of people did a lot for something that nobody could understand – the Veterans who fought wars against tyrannic demagogues so people would understand how precious freedom is. How so many laid down their lives and so many more lived with the horrors they saw, and the injuries thrust upon them. Today we honor them all. What a great bunch of human beings they have been and are.
I got quite the poignant note from a reader remembering her father and the notes written upon any scrap of paper he could find to put into his diary while sitting there in Guadal Canal. “My dad never talked about the war,” she said. “When you read the diary,’ she finished, “you understand why. Semper Fi!”

I had a little summer place about 20 or so yards from the ocean. People would say, if you can wait a few years, you’ll be ocean front. Ha ha. I’m not sure being ocean front is such a hot idea anymore.
There are several reasons why the sea is rising. A couple of them you may have read about are the melting glaciers, and maybe not so much about the magma spewing up creating hillsides beneath the sea.

The CEO of high-flying, now bankrupt, Crypto Company FTX was a huge contributor to the Dems. I’m thinking as are some Tids Editorial board Advisers that perhaps Crypto will be the next large USA bailout project. Institutions will cease to act rationally if a bailout is always on the horizon.
Not much angst this weekend. The elections are over, and we are in Que Sera Sera mode. The Patriots don’t play so I'm not tense sitting on the edge of my chair. It will rain Saturday so tourists will be at a minimum. It is Morph weekend, at last.
Messaging entertainment has gotten out of hand]. Too many people believe fiction.
The Answer:
The Pilgrims, just 41 families and crew members on a boat, organized themselves into a “Body Politik” as a way to come together to survive in an unknown land, despite arguments and different ideas among them. It was the first example of a new world “Constitution”, better known as the Mayflower Compact. This principle of government laid out over 400 years ago today being “by, of, and for the people” is one of the main ideas of democracy. This principle would become a cornerstone of America. Giving in into and onto each other is a pledge for equal survival. Our veterans fought to preserve this sacred principle beginning with the Revolutionary War. Bonus:
