Issue 5,303

Drumsticks and Chocolate Cream Pie:

This feels like a week of smiles. Maybe beginning in earnest, little grins stretching out to broad beaming's as thoughts of getting back together with family start to become a reality. To think about seeing how children have grown and how adults continue to mature; and the laughs, all those wonderful laughs so spontaneous, so easily found. And apprehensive that old granddad will say something shocking or worse, incoherent. And the stomachs are smiling and eyes widening as visions of Grandma carrying in a platter filled with the best goodies of the year. All the savory of the meal and the incredible sweet and dangerous desserts. Yes, it is smiler’s Monday, and it will just get better as these days creep by.

When more and more people start looking at their homes as businesses, then I see nothing but a growing societal problem. Earning extra money does not a neighborhood make.

You should be happy to know that White Castle has changed the cooking directions (And maybe the formula) for the delicious Cheese burger sliders. And, they are much better now. If that is what is meant by progressive, than I could become a progressive.

I remember all the hours I spent with my friends wandering around town, walking to drug store soda counter and ice cream shops like Rushmore’s to enjoy a giant hot fudge sundae. I still would do it if I had any friends that could walk, and a doctor who would let me.

From a Punster Tidster:My UPS Driver is heading to Spain for vacation. He's heading to Parcelona.”

While the Stock markets feel a little better, the bear still has claws hanging on. Temper wahoos for a while. Wahooism can lead to risky decisions.

The Question:

Peregrine White was born 402 years ago yesterday. Who was he? Bonus: What is Republicanism?

I think all songs and most singers today sound pretty much the same. I could write songs today. Maye I should write the Tids to one of those new style “Melodies”.

As Buffalo tries to dig out of now nearly 7 feet of snow, a national news outfit pushed the headline, “Will there be another dust bowl in the mountain west swath of states. Ana time natural cold dominates the news, a rash of “It’s hotter than hell” headlines will follow.

I think that the classical composers are quite amazing, but they had an open book, an advantage of being ahead of all the songs not yet written, the melodies and tunes not yet taken.

As you have read, the rich nations of the world have come to an agreement to fund the anti-climate change efforts of poorer nations. My personal feeling is that people of these poorer nations would rather have food.

I personally prefer beautiful melodies without words because then I can put my own emotions into the music I hear.

There is a conspiracy theory going around that is saying that Tom Brady and Gizelle Bundchen arranged their divorce in such a way that they would minimize millions possibly lost to a Crypto currency crash. The two were heavily involved in FTX, and when Brady took a surprising two weeks off during NFL training to go to the Bahamas with family. It also just happened to be the HQ of FTX. Of such surmising, my friends, conspiracy theories are made.

NE Pats’ Marcus Jones made me really happy yesterday. I was atop the Newport Bridge when he ran back the punt for a TD and nearly drove off. The recovery made it doubly exciting.

The Answer:

Peragine White was born on the Mayflower while it was anchored in a harbor off Cape Cond which is now known as Provincetown. White was the first British male born in Massachusetts. The Mayflower then sailed from Provincetown to Plymouth. Bonus: Republicanism is theRepublican form of Government”. Article IV, Section 4 (Const): “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.” Madison described is as: “[W]e may define a republic to be, or at least may bestow that name on, a government which derives all its powers directly or indirectly from the great body of the people, and is administered by persons holding their offices during pleasure, for a limited period, or during good behavior. It is ESSENTIAL to such a government that it be derived from the great body of the society, not from an inconsiderable proportion, or a favored class of it; . . . It is sufficient for such a government that the persons administering it be appointed, either directly or indirectly, by the people; and that they hold their appointments by either of the tenures just specified”. ‘The Tenth Amendment was intended to confirm the under-
standing of the people at the time the Constitution was adopted,
that powers not (specifically) granted to the United States were reserved to the States or to the people.

Political Media consultant mavericks have been enjoying classifying Repubs as Conservatives and Dems as liberals. And that just isn’t the case. In America they are just good people living in States that have far more independent power than nationalists would have you believe.

Jeez, I started off with smiles and now I’m mired in political muck. I’ll take the smile and the love in the hearts of people. Because it is always there, and that's why we will all survive in the end.

The heart knows.
