But, maaaa.

Today's Tids Issue 5251

There was always comfort:

As Momma owl said to her owlet, It’s Whom. Whom!

Happy Mother’s Day everybody! Ah Mom, always there to embarrass you in front of your friends. Always there to soothe when you scrape your knee. Always there no matter what your needs may be. I hope all you moms are smiling here or somewhere amidst happy flowers and kids of all ages.

Legality does not connote ethics, acceptability or morality.

Has the softness of May made the earth stand still? Is it me or does it seem a little more peaceful these days? Or is it because I have stopped reading the news?

Guns may be the preferred choice of mass killers, but I also believe we have had a shift in morality throughout our country. And I believe that willy-nilly wanton killing in movies and video games help put people on the edge over it. Looks normal to me, they may say.

The Question:

What famous novelist was a cousin and named after the guy who wrote the words to the Star-Spangled Banner?

The Headlines:

--Markets Open Strong; Inflation and Bank Stability Continue to Produce Anxiety.

--Ukraine Defense Minister Hanna Maylar Says Ukraine Forces Have Gained Over a Mile of Territory in Bakhmut.

--Migrant Tsunami Begins,

--Federal Judge in Virgnia Says Banning Gun Sales to Juveniles is Unconstitutional.

As a result of recent bank failures, the Fed is asking all banks to reassess their risk management procedures. One area involved accessing all possible scenarios which might arise from Climate Change. They determined that Climate Change will not at least affect the banking system. Although it may continue the go to excuse for everything else that goes wrong.

It was terrible a man had to die, but based on what I have read, the ex-Marine in the subway death was probably doing the right thing.

Somewhere there are explosive Jefferey Epstein records buried and somewhere there are lots of well-known people with their fingers tightly crossed that they are never found.

On the Voice this week, Kelly Clarkson and Niall Horan had to go through the Agony of eliminating three performers each. So, now the eight for Monday nights’ semifinals round is secure as Kelly Chose D Smooth and Holly Brand and Niall took Gina Miles and Ryley Tate WilsonGina and Holly look formidable. They join Balke and Chance choices Grace West, Noivas m D Sorelle and Ray Urial on Monday at 8 for the live show. I think it will be good.

I’m looking at my beloved Patriots schedule and it looks really, really tough and includes last year's Super Bowl warriors who have only gotten better. Woe is us in Patriots-Ville.

Here’s another example of how self-serving athletes can be. Last night the Celtics saved themselves from an embarrassing earlyish elimination from the playoffs and are now eager to salvage their season in the big 7th Game in Boston. Yet, Marucs Smart took the time in a post-game interview to throw his coach under the bus, at a time when unity and chemistry is the most important thing of all. From my point of view, there were several times when the coach blew it by not sitting Marcus on the bench at crunch time.

One of the advantages of bowling over golf is the automatic ball return. Splash!

The Prez and the Speaker are taking the weekend off, probably to honor or be with their moms. See, the government is people too. But then there is the real question: Do politicians actually come from Moms?

The debt problem doesn’t really become dire and frenetic for nearly three weeks. It's much too early for last minute panic discussions.

The Answer:

The Author is Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald – F. Scott Fitzgerald. You knew that. BTW, a restaurant named after FSF’s wife Zelda is still doing well around here.

Have a great weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!

Here’s a little tune for Moms:
