Overthinking, underdoing

Today's Tids Issue 5.256

Every day there's someone:

One of the great little sensations of life is what you see after cleaning your glasses.

Back around 1969 we as great country through its perseverance and genius put a couple of guys on the moon. The computer was probably as large as Buffalo NY. Today we would do it with a smart phone. Isn’t it interesting how things that once seemed immense at the time are trivialized, fraught with mistakes today. Never forget the pioneers because they are those who got us to where we are today.

My friend’s bakery burned down last night. His business is toast.

Britany Griner said Friday that having been imprisoned in Russia made Standing for our National anthem feel more important. It’s too bad kids don’t have that feel any more, aren’t taught the real meaning of what America brings to the betterment of citizens, unless they are mistreated by Russia.

The Question:

What are the Ten Top baby names of M girls and boys in 2023?

The Headlines:

--Markest Wavering on Debt Deal Challenges.

--Repub Tim Scott Officially Throws Hat in Ring For Prez.

--Arizona, Nevada and California Agree on DelaTo Drastically reduce Water Usage from Colorado River.

--Judge Enters Not Guilty Plea for “Standing Silent’ Bryan Kohberger; Kohberger Charged as Alleged Mass Killer of Four U Idaho Students.

--Biston Celtics Don’t Show Up; Get Blown Away by Miami Heat.

I just saw commercial for Taliento Gelato Bars. How great is that!

I have never understood why fashion models get paid so much.

Speaking of being paid too much, last night the Boston Celtics looked like a team with no heart. It was sad. That is about the worst thing you can say about a sports team.

I have noticed that the rise of Coffee shop madness seemed to coincide with the invention of Power Point presentations. That couldn’t because PP attendees need gallons of coffee to stay awake?

Have you ever noticed how celebrity interviewers always compliment the 90-year-old ex- gorgeous movie star on how amazingly she has maintained her beauty? They should be interviewing plastic surgeons.

The company “Lyft” wants to sell. The problem: Nobody wants to buy. Yes, this may be the dawning of a new era where buyers actually look inside the company for defects and black and white reporting instead of relying solely on painted pictures of a fairy tale future

Taylor Swift may be one of our great entertainers today, but I have to admit I couldn't name one of her songs or remember any tune associated with her.

A friend of mine always thought Ariana Grande was Font.

Richard is a great old name of Kings and successful men, but parents seem hesitant to name their kids Richard for fear of them being called Dick. Ah the new hypercritical society. Will we be changing the whale adventure to Moby Richard, or better yet, “Moby Liam”!

I heard about Jim Brown when we both played football in High School, he on Long Island and I across the sound (Btw, at far different levels). I never believed anything from the guy who told me Brown was the greatest football player, even in high school, ever. Now I do, Brown was a beast, and had that heart that winners have.

The Answer:

The Top Boys name is Liam. That is followed by Noah, Oliver, James, Elijah, Willaim, Henry, Lucas, Benjamin and Theodore. For girls it is Olivia, Emma, Charlotte, Amelia, Sophia, Isabella, Ava, Mia, Evelyn and Luna. Can I still type boys and girls.

Pete Brown, one of those rock legends, just died, He wrote Sunshine of your Love and White room. I always liked Cream and White Room. (Note: If you hang on, Sunshine of your Love, follows).
