Disestablishing.

Today's Tids Issue 5,255

Eyes open:

Even if a bear wears shoes and socks, he still has bear feet.

Life is full of the obvious and inevitability, but for some reason humans prefer going around in circles.

There is a lot of talk around then International kibitzing circuit that China relations may improve as the big country revitalizes its "Charm” offensive. More than anything, China wants to maintain unrestricted shipping lanes to the Pacific. If true, that would be good news for Taiwan. So far UK, France, Germany, The US and even The Netherlands have a strong presence in the Indo-Pacific. And there could be more.

The political whispers are indicating a serious formation of a "No Labels” third party which could easily play havoc in November 2024. I think that is something which reeks of high probability considering what we have on the table now, and certainly something to keep an eye on.

The Question:

Name the members of the G7. And what is it?

The Headlines:

I don’t know if you have been watching the big “Jeopardy Masters” tournament on ABC, but it has become my latest addiction. And we ae seeing that these really smart people have personalities too. And are funny. James Holzhauer is truly amazing at so many levels. Tonight, begins the semifinals with four remaining, James, Mattea Roach, Matt Amodio and Andrew HeMy big question is how does a show based on three get around having four? I think I can see an answer. We’ll see.

I truly wish we could rely on humans to make good and rational decisions so we would need the Government to step in and make laws that are already implied by the 10 commandments.

The City of Newport where I live must have gone to a flea market and found a special on “Road Closed” signs. It is truly impossible right now to get anywhere efficiently. And, I just saw one new “Improvements” which will only serve to create another new bottleneck. Government is maddening. I will write a letter.

Two friars are having trouble paying off the belfry...

So they open a florist shop. Everyone wants to buy flowers from the men of God, who seem to really have a way with their flowers, so business is quickly booming! The florist across town sees a huge drop in sales and asks the two friars to close their shop, but they refuse. A month later, things are even worse and the competing florist now begs the friars to close up shop because he is having trouble feeding his family! Again, they refuse, so the desperate florist hires Hugh McTaggert to do his dirty work. Hugh is the roughest, toughest thug in town and is being paid to "persuade" the friars to close their bustling little shop. Hugh first of all asks the friars to close their florist shop in a very friendly and civil manner.

When they again refuse, he shifts gears and threatens to beat them within an inch of their lives and trash their shop, so given no other option, the friars agree to close. This proves yet again, that Hugh, and only Hugh, can prevent florist friars.

 Surely, an oldie but goodie!

A lot of people think I'm overly concerned about AI and China. But I am really most distraught over the inadequacies of Spell-Check.

The Answer:

The G7 includes USA, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom. Before Crimea, Russia was included. Behemoths China and India are not which leads many to believe that this community of advanced Democracies serves little or no purpose. Typically, they have met to coordinate global economic policy and other transnational issues. Most see it as a mini vacation and photo op for leaders of the 7 countries.

Sorry Folks, quickie today. Full bodied Tids tomorrow.

It was close to being like winter today, and I was certainly under-dressed, and was severely punished for my stupidity. And, I can’t think of anybody to sue. Maybe I'll just take responsibility. Does that make me unAmerican?
