Too Broad Based:

Today;s Tids Issue 5,423

Counting on SAS:

The problem with national governmentalism and globalism is that the smaller entities where people actually live, breathe and procreate get lost in statistical dust.

I’ve lived near the ocean for quite a while now, probably a few short miles from large bodies of salty water all my life. The weather people are saying that it is much too cool now for May, but my recollection tells me I have been used to shivering well into June in years past.

Lately Biden had been backtracking on his simplistic moves after becoming President. Obviously, he is in full campaign mode now to repair past damages expecting that the American short attention span will have the folks forgetting the errors of the past and only hearing what he says now.

While hiking in the woods, Nate and Sam found this huge rock which had an old iron lever attached to it. Etched into the rock was the following inscription: "If this lever is pulled, the world will come to an end!" Nate wanted to pull the lever and see what would happen, but Sam, being a paranoid pessimist, greatly feared this! He said to Nate that if he tried to pull the lever, he'd shoot him! In a daring attempt, Nate lunged for the lever, and sure enough, Sam shot him! What is the moral of this story? Better Nate than lever!

The Question:

Three easy Q’s for Hump Day: Who was the first female PM of UK. Bonus: What was the name of Gary Hart’s mistress. Extra Bonus: Who was Margaret Mitchell?

The Headlines:

--Stocks Hang on in the Black at Noontime but Collapsed after the Fed Rate Raise; Regional Banks Latest Worry of Investors.

--Russia Accuses Ukraine of Assassination Attempt on Putin; Replies with Drone Volley; Ukraine Denies Totally.

--Latest Mass Shooting has 4 Wounded One Dead in Atlanta Medical Center.

The Voice: On Monday night he judges Blake and Chance had to eliminate three of their five singers. It’s a new element this year and I don't like it. Normally the big cuts were voted by the viewers. Some good performances were definitely not rewarded Monday especially a magnificent effort by Kala Banham singing “My Funny Valentine”. It was just plain wonderful. I was happy to see classic country singer Grace Best move on. Next Monday Kelly and the Irish Lad go through the agony of eliminating three. Good luck

It's never too early to look at the Kentucky Derby odds. Right now the top five are Forte 3-1, Tapit Trice 5-1, Angel Empire 8-1, Derma Sotogake and Practical Move 10-1. I'll be back Friday with the latest update and the full line-up so you can plan your Kentucky Derby parties.

I think the owner of Derma Sotogake chose that name to confuse Spell-Check.

What do you think about the Latest Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees – Willie Nelson, Missy Elliot, Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, George Michael, Raging against the Machine and the Spinners. Chaka Kahn will receive the Hall’s “Music Excellence Award.” Or “Mea Chaka”, which is actually an apology for not giving him an award for performance. Sometimes I wonder how selective this Hall really is. I tend to think Powerhouses of an Era should be the standard for hall nominees in all halls. Certainly not inter-generational comparisons.

The Fed raised the rate av1/4 point this afternoon and the market plummeted. Why were they surprised. Are the markets all about hopes and prayers easily dashed? Does the American short attention plan affect Wall Street too.

The Answer:

We all know these answers. Margaret Thatcher was first woman PM of UK. Bonus: Gary Hart pretty sure thing Presidential nomination was lost when it was reported he was seeing a woman named Donna Rice. Extra Bonus: Margaret Mitchell wrote “Gone with the Wind". For her effort she won a Pulitzer. Although the book may now be woked

Sorry for the brevity and mediocre levity. Even Tids’ writers get busy from time to time.
