Today's Tids Issue 4,840

Love is Good💖:

As winter’s days slide by.

When 30 degrees is our high.

The sun shone though crystal skies

Now snowflakes flutter in the air,

Inside burning logs warm a pair.

Outside they may walk in slush,

Enjoying Sunday’s romantic rush,

Where words of love may cause a blush

From wallowing in Tids V-Day mush.

The new Chinese policy statement regarding America is Manage differences but cooperate. Now that’s a helluva an idea for disjointed USA. Wouldn’t be nice we acknowledge differences, honestly without hedging, managed to work around them and hopefully through them in a cooperative spirit. Maybe we would finally arrive at a one size fits most. Please check your scorecards at the door.

I see the current state of our civilization like an old apocalypse movie where the camera pans down a dreary barren plain, and slowly we see people emerging, worn and tattered, coming out of caves and underground shelters; trying to stand erect, blinking rapidly, shielding their eyes form the sun unseen or months. I sense that as I wait for my next vaccine shot and hear word of friends finding their own way to a vaccination station.  Is it finally over? I hear no shouts of joy, but I see relief in bleary eyes.

The good thing about this big congressional trial is that it keeps them from making more bad laws and spending our money.

The Question:

I have seen some enormous price tags attached to promotions of the “Perfectly Romantic Dinner” in a good restaurant. To me a perfect meal means it tastes good. And a good cook or trained chef is pretty integral. And in these high-priced palaces I would expect thee best trained chefs of all. What are considered the top 5 Culinary universities, schools in the United States? Bonus: What are the ten best valentines gifts for her.

So far after re-reading what I have written, the Tids seem pretty convoluted. I’ll have to get pithier.

Most intelligent climate change warming experts agree that nuclear is quiet the good clean, highly efficient source of energy. The problem there for environmentalists is the disposal of nuclear waste. Did you know that one of the big looming problems in the future is the safe disposal of EV batteries and also the waste materials from their manufacturing? There’s always something.

You know, one of the disruptive divisional things occurring in this society is that people have been attributed quotes that they have never uttered based only on how they have been characterized by political opportunists.

Not so fast illegal wnnabees! Mexico President Lopez I Obrador says to Central America neighbors, Stay Home cause you aren’t getting across our borders either. he says, US prez has not yet made illegal, legal.

Are USA electrical power companies up to the task of recharging vehicles if the Auto industry goes all electric. Tax credits may make EVs affordable, but who’s gonna pay for the electric bills.

The Answer:

The Number One place for chefs , and has been for quite awhile, is the Culinary Institute if America in Hyde Park NY. It’s a beautiful place, to see, set overlooking the Hudson River Valley. I didn’t understand the menu. Number two is a place I hadn’t heard of – The New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier Vermont. I thought Montpelier was better known as the place for Kitchen granite. Number 3 is International Culinary Center NYC which has given us Bobby Flay, David Chang, Dan Barber and Christina Tosi. (This year 15 James Beard Award nominations were for grads of ICC. Number 4 is Johnson & Wales of Providence RI. Number 5 is another NYC institution called Institute of Culinary Education. Bonus: #1 is a Romantic Vacation. (Yikes). #2 is the old standard, Flowers followed by Romantic Dinner, Jewelry, Chocolate, Event or Theater Tickets, Love Poem, Spa Gift Certificate, Perfume, and Lingerie. #12 is a pet. But she may think more of that then you.

Take good care of the one you love

Every day of your life.

But on this Sunday,

That of a Saint named Valentine,

Shout it loud and clear.

Have a Loverly weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
