Today's Tids Issue 5,337

Yogi said it well:

I remember when it was thought you had nothing important on your mind when at affairs you could only talk about the weather. Does today's incessant weather talk mean that America has nothing important on its mind?

Have we misplaced the concept of civilized society?

I really hate the idea of using impeachment or key amendments ot overturn elections we don’t like. It is always better to accept what we have and spend all of the energy making it work. And then if we don’t like what we got, vote he or she out in the next election. Revenge government will never work.

How many biologists does it take to change a light bulb? Four. One to change it and three to write the environmental-impact statement.

The Question:

When and where was the first European settlement in North America? Bonus: What is Stellantis?

The Headlines:

--Markets Sluggish Ahead of Weekend; Apple Sell Off Continues Dragging Down Nas; Huawia Intros New Phone; iPhone 15 Set for Intro Next Weeks.

Where do you think the money came from that enabled the building of a glittering city in a godforsaken desert. Yes, from average Joe’s wallets. The losers. Las Vegas, -- LV; LoserVille.

Why did the amoeba cross the road? It was time to split.

A few days ago, a person asked me if every day felt like the weekend as you got older and retired. Actually, weekends are different because I save my most sinful breakfasts for Saturday and Sunday. Yes, I get a little crazy on weekends after conservative week writing the Tids.

Apple is a beloved stock, but how long can enthusiasm disguise three consecutive years of desliming revenue. Alas, it got drubbed the past two days, but Apple has always had a bad September only to have October as one of its best months. But then, there is that revenue issue.

Remember when Yogi the Ya, ya, ya philosopher said, “Nobody goes there anymore because it is too crowded?” Well, up in New Hampshire they closed a major leaf peeping route because tourists were driving locals crazy. There comes a time when you just don't need that extra dollar.

I had the inkling that Detroit might surprise last night. They are good where it counts, in the trenches, O and D. And the magician can't weave his spell when the receivers are dropping the passes. Are we getting back to smash mouth football?

Have you ever noticed that while Google Earth can whisk people away to the most exotic places on the planet, they spend most of their time looking at their own neighborhood.

I never thought wearing a tie was an ordeal in the slightest. Now it seems it's an ordeal to wear sleeves.

The baseball player who thought he was safe at first became outspoken.

Lately on some Talk radio I have trouble deciding who is dumber or ruder, callers or hosts.

Q: What’s the difference between a dog and a marine biologistA: One wags a tail and the other tags a whale.

The Answer:

In 1565 explorers from Spain settled in Saint Agustine Florida. Bonus: Stellantis is the new company name for Chrysler/Fiat. It owns Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Fiat, Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, DS Automobiles, Lancia, Maserati, Opel, Peugeot and Vauxhall.

Have a great weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
