Out from under.

Today's Tids Issue 5,344

I'll take funny:

It looks like we are back to economic gamesmanship. The Repubs can’t agree on a funding solution and the White House is more than happy to let the Repubs be responsible for a government shut down. But there will come a time when they have to agree on something to keep the money machine coughing up more bucks to fund the deficit. It is a very unsettling picture for rational human beings.

Yet, the average USA human doesn’t really seem that upset with inflation and interest rates that squash their borrowing power. Maybe it is just because so many are economically naïve and still believe in the money-grow-on-trees concept of finance. They just expect that salaries will rise to enable them to stay even with new increased salary costs that companies must impose on prices to satisfy shareholders

A “Fixed” income fund does not mean the market is rigged.

The Question:

There have been three assassinations of US presidents. JFK, James Garfield and William McKinley. Who succeeded each as President?

The Headlines:

--Markets In Positive Territory as Wall Street Awaits Fed Move Today; No Change in Rates is Anticipated.

--AG Graland to Testify Before V Congress; Expected to Establish His Independence from Politics and Exec and Legislative Branches.

--Temple U President Joanne Epps Does After Falling Ill on Stage at University Memorial Service0-

With an apparent national mood to keep spending regardless of inflation, fixed income is broke.

So now to be one with the people will congress persons stand on the floor of house and senate in tank tops to show off their tattoos? As if America needs another reason to lower standards.

For people on fixed income, gluten “free is intriguing.

The grey clouds were deepening as 1940 came along. Germany began the Blitzkrieg and life in England changed dramatically. Germany moved into Denmark, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France. Russia annexed Estonia, Lithuania and LatviaWinston Churchill was elected PM. America maintained its neutrality. Here, the First McDonalds opens in Pasadena. And the PA Turnpike opened as the first super multilane highway in the USA. Federal spending was $9.8 billion. “It's a bird, it’s a Plane...” --  The Superman radio show debuts and “What’s up doc” and Bugs Bunny hits the movie theaters. WNBT took to the air as the first continuing TV station with 10,000 viewers. But in the hearts of all it was the growing threat of war that overrode everything. I think I remember helping my dad hoe the garden.

When you are I on fixed income, how come you can never find a repairman.

Dogs beg; cats demand.

Of Course, no matter how Garland tries to establish himself as an independent unassociated person, he was appointed by the president and is a part of the Executive Branch. Like it or not. I personally do like the idea of AG’s thinking beyond political expediency, but in the long run they are appointed by a person elected by a segment of society.

In inflationary times, the value of income from savings declines. So, why is called fixed.

People on fixed incomes only go to fast food restaurants when they are low in salt and pepper, sugar, ketchup and mustard.

Some people when they drink get angry and dangerous. Others when they drink get funny and happy.

The Answer:

LBJ followed JFK and my personal opinion is that his policies started down into the road to national malaise we fight today. Chester A. Arther, a true political operative and opportunist, followed Garfield. McKinley, who recently lost his mountain, was followed by Teddy Roosevelt. McKinley was a wildly popular President with 50,000 in attendance for his Buffalo NY speech when he was shot.

When cats and dogs are fixed it usually means they can’t do what they want.

I just picked this out of the blue. Just a little fun:
