Life is personal.

Today's Tids Issue 5,504

There comes a time:

Someday I'll understand bonds and yield curves.

We spend about $850 Million on Medicare, $820 Billion on Military and $880 Billion in interest on National debt. People have gotten used to wanting everything and politicians have gotten used to spending it. Nervous yet?

This is the truth. LinkedIn keeps on sending me Job opportunities for proofreader positions. What do they know that I don't know.

There is always a time when it’s nice to know there is a little plaec in which to hide. Often you can find it where there is a piano playing without words to conflict and thoughtful moment

The Question:

Who was Ira Einhorn?

The Headlines:

--GM Comes in with Strong Revenue and Earnings, Plus Good Future Signs for EV Products; Wall Street Seeks to Build Positively on GM News.

--Tesla Cuts 6,000 Jobs in Texas.

--Senate Finaly to Vite on Aid Fir Ukraien and Israel.

--UK Approves Plans to Ship Asylum Seekers to Rwanda.

Too many people seem to forget the utter inhumanity of the Hamas attack on innocent Israeli Citizens.

People run hither and yon to get aboard the latest diet or health food fad. But in reality, Genes are what do it.

Is it just Rhode Island or are cars crashing into storefronts all over this nation. And why -- alcohol, drugs, texting or just a general national malaise and disregard for responsible driving.

There are protests on campuses. It must be spring.

Sometimes after a period of grey skies and rainy days the sun shines and people sit around worrying that they aren’t doing enough to take advantage of it. There’s always something.

For two long months or more, sports talk around here have been discussing what the Pats should do with the #3 pick. Thursday. For sure they will do something, and the Sports talk will spend the following two months or more discussing why it was wrong.

33& of the US National Debt is held by Foreign Countries as investments. The top five are Japan, China, UK, Luxemburg and Canada. Luxemburg? Countries’ friend or foe buy US debt because it has always been a sound investment. But China which had about 1,3 trillion is now down to $780 Billion. The reason, according to most economists and financial investors -- US debt is not quite as secure as it has been due to increases in spending not supported by a similar growth in GDP. The National Debt certainly is much too big for an average citizen looking at the cost of carrots to comprehend, but it is there, and it is in danger of becoming dire,

It makes no sense to wait from Sunday to Wednesday to play the second game of teh Miami/Boston NBA playoff series. Unless of course it has something to do with TV money. Nah.

The Answer:

Eli Einhorn was an avowed activist environmentalist has been deemed one of the organizers and Master of Ceremonies for the First Earth Day in Philadelphia. Actually, Ed Muske was the featured speaker there, and the idea for Earth Day came from the mnd of Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson. Einhorn did become quite famous but not as he hoped, in 1977 police found the decomposing body of his girlfriend Holly Maddux in a trunk in a closet of his apartment. Yes, a headline following the grisly discovery described the actions of the former peace-loving activist hippie and noted UPenn “Academic Counterculture Expert” in a headline, “Earth Day Founder Composts Girlfriend’s Body.”

Is an Academic Counterculture Expert an ACE!

I end with a calming tune. Make up your own calming words.
