Unemployment down to 8.4%.

Today's Tids Issue 4,729

Covid is no picnic:

Happy Labor Day!

My profound wish for this Labor Day is that it won’t be so long until the jobs are opening up again. That business owners will be able to climb out of their holes and hire again. If there ever was two-way street in labor/management relations, the Covid era is it.

Yesterday’s 1,000-point drop on the Dow was not a surprise at all. It’s September, the market is acquiring runaway tendencies and investors are checking their brakes.

Labor Day weekend has always been memorable to me. It has in the past always been the time for a great family gathering at our little cottage by the shore; the annual family pic trying ot get everybody bot smile, the kids gathering buckets of sea creatures, and of course the food. It has also always been the exact day when my grill runs out of gas. Yikes!

“Pulp Friction”: Workers on strike at the orange juice factory. (Thanks , Shoe.)

The Question:

Who was Merald “Bubba” Knight?

The Headlines:

--European Markets rebound; US Market Futures Do Not Bode Well; Big Techs May Continue Slide; WS Awaits Jobs Report.

--Various US Cities Report Various Incidents Indicative Of The Decline Of Civilization.

--Fauci Warns Seven States He Sees At Risk Of Surging To Take Extra Precautions During Long Weekend: North and South Dakota, Iowa, Arkansas, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois.

--Lebanese Army Finds More Volatile Chemicals Near Site Of Recent Massive Explosion.

One of the problems about getting older is that you lose golf partners.

It seems that everybody gets together for Labor Day weekend, except for those who can’t. It’s always nice to think about those who can’t.

My question is: Is every back person killed by police in tense situations a helpless victim?

One of life’s problems is only having two pills left for a key prescription and it’s three days until the drug store reopens after Labor Day.

I think a lot of these Democratic governors like the idea that unemployed workers are looking to them for salvation instead of the restoration of solid business hiring. (Biz shuttered by Governments. Covid has created the prefect storm for socialism advances.

I think one of the least discussed causes of Global warming are blacktop Parking Lots. Huge expanses of nothing but heat absorbing macadam just sits there and stores sold sol’s heat, releasing it during the evening and night. The planet never cools. Ma and Pa Main Streets never spewed heat in the air like that. Maybe I’ll send my thesis to MIT.

I hear that at the White House, campaign consultants are awaiting a shipment of a couple of skids of duct tape to help control Presential utterances.

One of the current trends adding ot overall negativity is elevating every black/white incident to National Calamity status.

The Answer:

Merald “Bubba” Knight is indeed, Gladys Knight of the Pips!

A lot of the people cringe at the word Labor. I wonder why it is a National Holliday?

Have a great three dayer, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
