The Heart of the Matter.

Today's Tids Issue 4,856

It's always the People:

I’m trying to organize a hide and seek National Championship Tournament, but good players are really hard to find.

There’s a big difference between the goals of teachers and parents, and the teacher’s union.

Out of the blue life disruptions can be quite shocking often morphing into a deep personal quandary. Yesterday I was thrown for a loop when I opened my newspaper’s Comics page only to find most of favorites missing, and also far fewer comics. It is actually quite difficult to fully describe the immediate disillusionment to a guy whose day is always made better with good laughs in the morning. But the good news is that this morning the paper admitted it was a mistake. And then just a couple of hours ago that elation was greyed by a doctor who kind of indicated that Cheetos might be bad for me. The weathermen will tell us the sun is out and it is warm today, be happy! But they aren’t under the threat of losing part of their life.

I thought Queen Elizabeth’s just released response to the O/M/H bonanza was perfect.

The Question:

There will be arguments on this Q&A as everybody loves their own dog. But, what do 353,000 people voting say are the best dog breeds of all.

The Headlines:

--Markets Rebound Significantly; Nasdaq Soaring To Best Day In 11 Months.

--Pfizer/BioTech Proven Effective Against Brazilian Variant.

--House To Vote Tomorrow On Biden Pork Bundle.

--Joe Manchin Prepared To Block Biden Infrastructure Bill If Repubs Aren’t Give A Say Creation.

--After Biting White House Person, Biden German Shepherds Sent Packing.

--New Biden Title IX Rules Action Will Reduce Those Accused Of Sexual Assault Due Process Opportunities.

--South Dakota Gov Kristi Noem To Sign Bill Restricting Girl HS Sports To Girls.

Whence does this expression come, Department:

Today’s expression – “Stark Raving Mad”. First, Stark Means “Severe”, “Complete”. Raving means “Wild”, “Irrational”, “Incoherent”. Mad means “Mentally Ill” or “Insane”.  “The phrase “Stark Mad” first appeared in a poem by John Skelton in 1489. “Stark Raving” was seen first in a play by John Beaumont in 1648. In 1693 John Dryden penned “Stark Staring Mad”.  And in 1734, Henry Fielding used Stark Raving Mad in his work, “The Intriguing Chambermaid.” It has also been said in many other ways including “Stark Raving Bonkers, Up the Wall, Round the twist” in a work called “Death and the Chaste Apprentice” It obviously means completely wildly insane, and was coined by the above authors and others to “creatively describe manic behavior”. Even Jonathon Swift got into the act with, “There’s difference between staring and stark mad.”

I used to be sane until I started looking for information about “Stark Raving Mad”. Now I are one!

In case you are interested The Persian New Year, Nowrus or Norooz is celebrated March 31. This key date in the great culture around for over 3,000 years, but now it is referred to mainly as the Iranian New Year. This unfortunate for all good Iranians who must suffer the negativity of their leaders. Persia was one of the most important civilizations of our earth history; a great chapter in human development, with contributions to society by their highly intelligent, good and creative people So it is a good reminder for us in America to acknowledge on this important day that it is the people are basically just like us, good people who may be misconstrued due to the negativity of their leadership. Happy Norooz Iranians all.

Sometimes we forget the people.

I think the use of the word “Bombshell” in reference to the Oprah Harry Meghan TV program is another media hyperbole of the greatest order. It was just one more celebrity interview all celebrity interviews.

I believe people’s hearts are the same regardless of where they have been placed on this earth. Yes, that must mean that I believe politics have hearts. They just make a decision to let them lapse for a while.

Never buy flowers from a monk. Only you can prevent florist fryers.
