Today's Tids Issue 5,580

Not Yet:

What good is AI if it just can't turn around the stock market fall in a day? I thought it was smarter than that.

Due to the recession and to save on energy costs, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off.

The “R” word already gets mentioned early in in Mariana Trench plunge, but times just aren't that bad. O this could be a time of restructure after run-away faddism buying. Yes, it does appear smart investors are stashing cash for some low-price pickings in the fall, perhaps seeing a rate decrease by the Fed. This drop was augmented by sideliners panicking and selling too rapidly. I hope.

Speaking of dangerous concerted efforts:When I was a child, I was hit by a clarinet, a saxophone and then a French horn. It was an orchestrated attack.” (Thanks to our TPL)

Tom Walz? It doesn’t apepar that Kamala went even close to moderate with her selection. He seems to be into free stuff for all. He was immediately endorsed by Berne Sanders. So, she is going after the Obama wing. Tom Walz is ag reta choice... for te republicans.

The Question:

Name Ten of the worst movies that made a Billion dollars

The Headlines:

-- Japan Stock Rebound Of fers Optimism for US Opening; Markets hold up in Positive Territory to Closing; Bitcoin Having Worst Week since Fall of FTX.

--Just In (When I type this it was breaking): NYT Reports Tim Walz to be Kamala VP choice.

--Tensnion Continues as Israel and Hezbollah Trade Rocket Fire.

The “Soft Centrists”, those reubs who more than anything want Repub Prezz are starting to get tired of making excuses for Trumpisms. Analysts of the 2020 elections said a similar malaise occurred at the of the 2020 campaign, contributing to Trumps loss.. Kamala is the last person on earth I would want as a Prez, *Well maybe that's an exaggeration. Hillary is. But she is gaining of course with Dems where now they have a favorability population of 89% versus 81% a few months. But the big number that Repubs should be concerned about is that for independents the favorability rose from 31% to 48%. That combination raised her overall favorability rating from 43% to 50% in a week (Morning Consult Poll). Trump better be careful going forward or his “Soft Centrists” will be going there too, or a write-in vote. The cheering crowds at Trump rally belie the reality of voter concerns. .

Yesterday I wrote that a consensus of observers looked at Kamala's weakness as inexperience, a perceived attribute Repubs will attempt to hammer home. Which could work especially if the flames grow hotter in the Middle East. The Middle East is no exaggeration according to a Middle East expert I talked to today. The consensus was drawn from the opinions of multiple Repubs strategists and commentators across a broad spectrum of radio TV and internet political observers. Intelligent Repubs feel that is a lot better than talking about her race.

A guy is walking down the street with his friend. He says to his friend, "I'm just a walking economy." His friend replies, "What do you mean?" "It's like this: My hairline is in recession, my stomach is a victim of inflation, and the combination of these factors is putting me into a deep depression.”

Seafood is Rhode Island, Department:

The Tids management has been graced by the arrival of a talented young woman who will be giving us food tidbits and anecdotes to bring you delightful salivation and a few smiles. Following her mom’s advice she and her sister, chief taster, attended The Charlestown (RI) Seafood Festival, which by the way is the greatest seafood festival in the country, attracting around 35,000 people each year. It was glorious, filled with summer fun day activities like carnival rides, games and craft vendors and some of the best seafood chefs around. “It beat my expectations,” she says. “Jewelry, food samples and cute sundresses populated various tents; I credit them with relatively reasonable prices. Of course, the seafood was the star of the show. Pursuing over 30 vendors (Lobsters, Clams, Oysters, Fried Fish Chowdas), I landed on Lobster BLT Tacos from Alaina’s and a Watermelon Del’s Lemonade to beat the heat. I certainly got the bang for my buck with the tacos, smothered in delicious lobster and not too messy to eat. And, while ice cream tempted me, the lemonade the perfect way to end the hot day for a summer seafood celebration.” After reading that I can imagine me standing there wondering, what do I eat next?

I can hardly wait for lunch.

While I’m local I got to report on the growing excitement here over the Western Cranston RI Little League Softball Team playing in the national LLS World Series representing the Northeast. Yesterday was game number one and they beat the Western Champ from Arizona. I love local pride. If only Politicians didn't get in the way of everything.

The Answer:

Transformers: Age of Extinction topped the List. Next was Faye of the Furious, The Lion King (2019), Alice in Wonderland (2010), Jurassic World: Dominion, The Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Alladin (2019), Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Luke Skywalker, Avatr: Way of the Water and Number 10 Captain Marvel. In case you are interested, Minions, Frozen II and Barbie were the next three.

Have wonderful celebration of Kamala VP evening, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y. Yeah, sure. Gotta go. Busy day.
